M8 Tracker

Wow, I’ma damn fool. I think my brain has always glossed over the beta testing tab because I always assumed it had to do with beta M8 units.

Thank you!

There is a beta-channel on the discord with tons of discussion, updates, downloads and changelogs.

this was chopped directly on the m8. you can use a sample start command and finetune your chops.

wait, now microtonal?!

Where can I find that beta-channel on Discord? Do I have to get a invitation for that?

In the rules channel there are several posts, that you need to accept by clicking the icon below it, to get access to different sections. There is one especially for the beta testing stuff.

so amazing.

What percent of your tracks starts with samples vs the onboard synths?

I sold my dirtywave so I could focus on getting my machinedrum-based EP out the door, but man I miss it. Bought renoise as a substitute, but sad to find it cannot do some of my favourite dirtywave tricks like variable-length FX tracks and increment tables by 1 step per note played. Looking forward to more coming available in January.

EDIT: got this playing in the background, just tried to come back to the page to heart your post twice. Some of the best music I’ve heard on this site, thank you. truly inspiring.

Why not setup a Teensy in the headless setup? I’m hoping to build one up in the new year, depending on whether Santa gets me the Teensy, etc.

God… the new update that was shown yesterday is so fucking awesome. Slice Points (or lack of) was the only thing I felt the M8 was missing. But also a scale mode I didn’t know I needed and it looks dope, gonna be a lot easier to program songs now for people like myself that suck at music theory lol.

Definitely the best portable groove box out.

I took this back out last night! Not quite as fun as the real deal but maybe I’ll hook it up to a game pad and pretend

M8 is absolutely dope, it’s so addictive! I keep coming back to it and finding new tricks. Started saving a lot of my own instruments too for easy recall. And making chords from the FM machine is great. Too much fun stuff to list. Can’t figure the ARP command out for shit though
