No problem! I’m still learning a ton a day at a time lol

Thank you as well!

Alright I’ll take my further help me type questions to the Discord channels, which have been magically unlocked for me. :innocent: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

As long as you hit option and edit about the same time or hit option first it will work as expected. When deleting / resetting any highlighted parameter I aim for the crack in between option and edit to hit them both at the same time with a finger.

you can also highlight the character and then replace it with a space instead of a letter

Got my hardware unit, and it really is amazing. I am tempted to just get rid of every other bit of gear I own. It’s that great.

For the folks who are just starting out, I put together this walkthrough video for the basics a wee while back which might be useful:

and one with an introduction to tables, since they are one of the most powerful features of the M8, but also the hardest to wrap your head around (or can be).

Hope they are useful!

Yeah, your 10/20/30…method is a logical approach i immediately applied.

The absolute bucket of all of these pieces was initially baffling going into it, and your methodology was like an external epiphany

The magical door has opened for me too, thanks for the tip! I had given up logging into discord, looking at the announcements, not being able to work out where all the other posts are and logging out again feeling stupid

Hey, cheers! That means a lot.

That’s the beauty of trackers. You can come up with lots of different systems for making things easier to remember, but it’s tough when you are faced with an overwhelming amount of possibilities at first.

this is future lol but seriously, great tunes

Please make more! I’ve watched both videos twice now. Definitely good explanations of things.

I think you were kinda lukewarm on the PT on your review video you made, now that you have the M8 how are you feeling about it?

I think I managed to go in the exact opposite direction as you… I managed to score an M8 from the first beta run and have only recently picked up a Polyend Tracker also. Like @OldmanChompski - I’m curious as to whether you’ll do a comparison video and if you’ll reach the same conclusion as me… namely that both are pretty essential and it’s no bother to justify having both!

If you’ve got any particular things you’d like videos on let me know! I’m thinking of doing one on live mode as that might be a mystery to some folks, but it’s pretty straightforward.

I was definitely lukewarm on the Polyend at first, as it had so many bugs in key features that it was meh, but they’ve fixed a bunch of them. I’ve done an updated review on the channel a couple of weeks ago. The M8 is definitely a superior machine, but there are things the Polyend fits better for workflow wise. I like using it for MIDI sequencing in particular.

Hey, thanks. Yeah… I’ve got a comparison video in the works. Just trying to make sure I cover the main points without being a big boring bastard (!) which is no mean feat. Keep an eye on the channel as I won’t spoil the conclusion in advance :stuck_out_tongue:

hey all!

Tonight i was tying to experiment the usb audio and midi capabilities, with touschosc and moog model d on the iphone.

i ran in a problem: some seconds after i connect the m8 to the iphone via usb from camera connection kit, the m8 shut down. once before it shut down i was able to make touch osc briefly working!!

as i see the M8 battery logo a bit instable when connected, i suspect a sort of battery loop where each one try to charge the other…

did someone was able to run such config??? ie usb midi and audio between iphone and m8??

if some of you have the req hardware can you test??

thanks

edit : i also put a mail to dirtywave, and the answer is already here : and it’s effectively a sort of battery loop… you have to make a special usb cable with a spare one where you cut only the red one inside… (from dirtywave)
