To say I’m excited to receive it is an understatement. I do have the headless M8 already though, so I’m familiar with the workflow now. But I can’t wait to get my hands on the actual device!

Hmmm, seems a little unsporting …
From what I understand, there was an option on Patreon (for patrons only) to choose to have the M8 shipped slightly early at the cost of not having the correct links to the website and manual (which at the time were incomplete)… Honestly with all the work Tim’s been doing, I personally would be super understanding about something like that- out of the hundreds of supporters and purchasers, don’t you think it’s a bit unreasonable to expect him to think “Oh crap Mokomo gave me some extra $$, I’ll have to get his order out ASAP”. Lol. I’m sure he’s appreciative but it’s gotta be real tough to stay on top of that.
Also it’s being done by the order in which the orders were places. So order numbers #1000-1400 are the ones that are finished/shipping this week from what I understand. I’m in the 1700’s so I know I still have a bit of waiting to do.
Wonder if I’ll be able to save/sell enough to afford one in the production run….
I expect Tim will be happy to refund me the $50 and I’ll have paid the same price as everyone else.

Yeah I’m in the same boat, paid the extra but dropped the Patreon once my preorder was placed, but it seems like he was mostly offering early shipping to the Patrons almost as a shipping beta test rather than an explicit reward.

Yeah I guess it gets a bit philosophical right? To throw money into the abyss for the love of humanity (to me) means not expecting anything on return for it, right? Idk- I guess that’s just my thinking when I give something in a charitable spirit. I choose to support a cause, and that cause (in this case, hundreds of people receiving an awesome handheld tracker) being fulfilled is worth the money.

no doubt as an untethered portable that looks like a calculator for people who only count up to 4, it is nice and discreet too for those of us who don’t like to sit on public transport with an MPC on our lap.

Sorry. It is because I needed to test the shipping process and well there was no manual so for some people that would have been fine, but for others it is not fine at all.
I thought it was a good idea at the time and I forgot some people left Patreon. Those +$50 orders will be sent out this Monday most likely unless there is a fire with my shipping process since they are the first orders in the system. I never offered the higher price as incentive to ship earlier (though that IS what is happening) if you recall it was to get on the preorder list and help support the display issue I was having.
