I just have it connected to the power bank (to the left of the MM2 in the picture) with a USB cable. It doesn’t even need that!
Just got notification to pay taxes. M8 arrives Friday! Cannot wait to join the fun!
Any recommendations for magnetic USB micro cables for use on the M8?
I finally have this coming and my wife lost her job. OMG…so now not sure what to do…if she hooks, we can pay the bills but that is not something I really approve of! So, we have enough money for bills till November…if no job, bye bye M8.
Sad to hear.
But if I had to sell off equipment to pay bills, the M8 would be the last device I would sell.
With the latest mm2 firmware there’s a keyboard there too.
Someone once wrote in here, that they were using a midi keyboard to insert notes in a phrase. How exactly does one do that? I seem to have no luck - I can, however, easily play the given instrument assigned to a given channel, but inserting notes is another thing.
gotta have the REC. NOTE CHAN set to your midi channel, I’m using channel 1 here
did this with my S-1 and it worked super cleanly once i noticed the REC. NOTE CHAN setting
@schoolbabyboy to the rescue - it works!
Thanks for the swift reply, brother!
glad it worked for ya! thanks for motivating me to actually give it a shot, ive been ignoring that whole side of my m8 for too long
That device looks really cool, but every picture I saw it is like a macro photography. Isn’t that screen super small, or that doesn’t suppose an issue while programming or performing?
My eyes are not great even with glasses on. I have no trouble reading M8’s screen at all. I’ve only recently gotten the thing and am in the middle of some projects with other gear so I haven’t yet spent more than 30-45 minutes in one go but I suspect I’ll do fine for longer periods too. I haven’t even checked out the large text option yet!
I had trouble with the standard font, bigger one just solved my problem.
I’m over 40 so my eyes are not so great anymore. But screen size and that normal size font is ok.
In my early 40s and having spent most my adult life working at a screen, I have severely dry eyes and regularly experience eye fatigue. Just another comment that the M8 screen really has not bothered my vision thus far. The larger font size option is such a nice touch though, and I imagine at some point I might use that instead.
My eye sight is not perfect but not bad and I use the M8 mostly with the standard font size and it’s no issue at all, I tried out big font when it came out and it’s great too, the font is much bigger than standard font size on a mobile phone, so if you can use one of those you should be fine, you can also adjust the colours to taste. (not to mention you can also hook it up to a computer screen via USB to use a much bigger display when you want to)
Here’s a comparison image, beta M8 but the screen is pretty much the same. AA battery for scale. Please excuse the dust and cat fluff.
Thanks all, that is some valuable info
Is the battery for scale? Or is that attached to your M8?
it says it’s for scale
