sounds deadly
thanks! This was a fun project to work on. I had wanted to release something pretty bad lately and these 3 tracks just kinda went together. The M8 is such a beast of a sequencer for fleshing out songs with variations and sections. You don’t get stuck in that loop mode.
Is it November yet!
yea its a beast innit.
I like all 3 o them tunes. love the hook n bassline in stasis shift. nice.
A friend of mine gave me a cheap bluetooth headphone adapter that’s specifically designed to fit on a pair of ATH-M50’s (or 50x). I was pretty surprised by the quality of the signal and the adapter’s ability to pair effortlessly with my iphone and ipad, so I ended up buying a cheap bluetooth transmitter (cost $10 for like-new condition on amazon) to connect to my M8. There’s a bit of latency between both Bluetooth devices, but it’s completely acceptable for a tracker-style workflow. What’s great is the fact that it makes the M8 that much more portable! Now I don’t have to worry about having my heavy headphone cord getting snagged and damaging the M8’s audio port, and I can listen to my M8 tunes remotely while I’m walking around town or doing housework. It’s definitely worth $20!
Hi,
I paired my M8 with a digitakt, works well. Digitakt sends clock and transport.
Is it possible to mute the channels on M8 from the digi ? I would like to use the mute mode on the digitakt (eg midi tracks A to H to mute/unmute corresponding channels on the M8).
Aaand I left mine in the delta sky club. Splendid.
Eeep I hope you are able to get it back somehow!?
Pretty sure you can using table, and random…
I bought the Airfly bluetooth adapter. Audio quality is great. Also little bit of latency. I use them with my Airpod Pro’s.
ouch… could happen to me. for that reason I’m considering buying a spare one
Awesome. I’ve read good things about that
particular transmitter. If mine stops working I’ll probably upgrade with this model.
This is super interesting!
I’m confused about a couple of things and don’t have the M8 with me to test it.
Sorry in advance that these questions sound super pedantic, but I guess that’s the nature of trackers
Step 1: Would use a SCA command? Which would set the scale for all following phrases in the track? Or is there a way to set the scale without the effect. I know it can be done globally.
Step 2: Is there a reason for random notes if we’re going to use the random pitch too?
Steps 3 & 4: Do we randomise the pitch with a RAN command? If so then this randomises the previous effect in the column. So there would be a PIT command in the first row and RAN commands same column in the following rows?
Step 6: More a curiosity, if there’s a SED and RAN command in a row together, is the seed set before the random number is generated?
Thanks!
Here’s the latest track on the M8.
I made it during two 4 hours livestreams that you can check out on my channel if you’re interested in the way I made it. First part is in the “Past livestreams” playlist, second part in the regular videos.
Cheers!
My m8 arrives tmrw hopefully and I’m curious what have been some of your favorite resources besides the manual for learning about the m8.
Figuring this would mainly be on YouTube so also some of your favorite videos showing what it can do.
So stoked on this demo ! Hope you enjoy! Drums need more programming but got the sound design mostly.

The greatest resource is the Discord meetups on Dirtywave channel. Start with #2 and onwards, you’ll know everything you need/want to know. And it has chapters!
There’s also a great video on the FM synth here by Impbox: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-RvH-jI9fQ&t=414s
Check out “Allmyfriendsaresynths” channel, he has some good tutorials on tables and so on.
Don’t forget Avrilcadabra’s channel as well, insane tips/tricks, sound design ideas and she also shares great patches and resources: https://www.youtube.com/user/avrilcadabra
I also have 2 tutorials on the M8. One is an overview to explain how it works, the other one is a full breakdown of a track and sampling my Peak into the M8:
Hope it helps!
I really like the style of your videos, great tutorials!
Thank you!
