In the same boat almost, but didn’t, pull the trigger on the Polyend Tracker (you can see my indecision on the PT board), yea mono samples 
also I’m not a mad sampler, so lack of any synth sounds apart from wavetable and granular was holding me back. And then saw the M8 and was instantly impressed with the synths, and also how much else was packed into it. Just looks awesome, and as a past twiddling with lsdj on gameboy type person the way of working is already familiar.
I’m also getting into Renoise while I’m waiting for M8 …or Polyend to come back in stock. Renoise is amazing though, really surprised (and why didn’t i know about it before?!! 
think it outdoes PT on features, and in spite of being at the computer, the interface is a dream to work with. The longer I spend on it could spoil me for any other trackers, and maybe even the M8
