I sense we are arguing at cross-purposes. Can you explain clearly and concisely what you are unable to do and how you would fix it to do what you want? Then maybe we can make progress. Though unless Trash80 thinks it is worth putting into an update, it won’t happen, and he knows best what is possible and what he won’t do because it can be done another way, perhaps with a bit more work.
Thinking about the screen since mine has a scratch, so wanted to see how hard it is on the v2 version. I opened it up by removing the screws, but everything seems sealed compared to v1?
To be honest, I have not opened up my v2 (no reason so far), and I have no experience with v1. But my sense from reading the Discord is that replacing the v2 screen is straightforward and inexpensive, so much so that people advise there is no real reason to have a screen protector, which can often cost almost as much as a new screen. I’m not sure what you mean by “sealed”.
I would recommend emailing support@dirtywave.com to request instructions and a link for ordering the screen replacement. They are very helpful and replacing it yourself will not void your warranty.
in that there’s essentially unlimited TBX potential in the modulation backrooms that are aux tables, i love the M8 for it’s milking of creative solutions with a beckoning open door of zero latency hypothetical capability
my favorite use for [tables] is sectioning one table off into smaller chunks of {3 rows} with “table hop” as the backstop of {3 rows}, where phrase tells TBX to start on a given row, with some number or rows of effects, then at the end of the {3 rows} a “table hop” on the last row to send the locator back to the start row of the {3 rows}, and whatever is in the middle row of the {3 rows} gets (spammed), until the parent phrase tells the aux table to move or stop. while the playhead proceeds on the planetary gravitational convention, where there’s a “table hop” after a number of rows of {instructions}, the phrase only need to direct TBX to start at a given location and the “table hop” will spam whatever is in that {instructions} until phrase tells it to move elsewhere.
a random sandwich, essentially. if you like sandwiches, but want to automate the contents after (run sandwich), phrase tells table to {start bread}, whatever you put after {start bread} gets spammed, then “table hop” means {end bread}, and {end bread} goes back to {start bread}. but in between {start bread} and {end bread} you have available RND, RNL, CHA, and SED, to use in between {start bread} and {end bread}. this is why i lost my shit when i first got ahold of M8 in 2022

I’m trying to sync the M8 with a CyDrums. I have the M8 sending Clock, Transport and SPP and the CyDrums receving sync via a MIdi Cable. The tempo is synced, but the CyDrums doesn’t do Start/stop when I start playing on the M8.
I’m not sure what exactly the “sp” is; I could guess, but it doesn’t matter. The M8 is a USB client for both MIDI and audio. It needs to be paired with a USB host if one wants to have those transmitted over USB.
This sounds as if the CyDrums is not set up to respond to transport. I looked at the manual and there’s no explicit mention of transport, alas. Do you have something else you could test the CyDrums with, like an Elektron box?
