How old, this YouTube video came out somewhere between version 1.0 and 3.0 I think but I could be mistaken… but without a doubt it was the very first ‘create a whole track’ with a single sample type video to ever use ableton live… it was one guy, forgot his name
he was in a band or group, forgot their name lol but they weren’t in the video… just him, ableton live and I believe that first 25 key midi controller the oxygen … the guy used one sample and created the whole track with a lot of commentary during the whole process
I think @captain8 is looking for a Youtube video, as described in his post
@captain8, you could try to add the text before:2000-01-01 to the search bar and see what comes up. It will display anything before that date in year-month-day:
yeah YouTube was on deck, ableton live was a baby, the guy had curly brown hair, was kinda husky, think he was wearing a green jacket like a winbreaker and the band he was in was signed but can’t for the life of me remember their name… video took place in the studio, mostly white if I remember correctly but the main thing is he did the whole thing using his oxygen keyboard and laptop… and I’m absolutely certain he was the only one who had done a single sample video with ableton at that time.
@error & d4ydream, I will try these searches out, thanks
Yeah, that’s why I’m asking. Ableton versions 2 and 3 were released years before YouTube was launched.
@captain8 is it possible that you’re remembering the version incorrectly? Maybe expand the search to later versions, that existed concurrently with YouTube?

Was thinking the same thing earlier. I don’t see a way of searching Vimeo though. Google Video also pre-dated YouTube but apparently all of that content got transferred to YouTube.
I love a nice boring mystery, let’s get this solved people. I need closure on this even though I have no vested interest in it. I really might just watch the video if we can find it.
I’m ready, let’s go. What’s the approx length of the video? you can sort by content length also, can’t you? You could also search archived ableton forum posts to see if it’s mentioned. Isn’t it possible it was an ableton sponsored or endorsed video?
