The KORG press release states the following prices: $249 (US) / £189 (UK) / €219 (EU).
I think for that price i would go for the zoom l6 personally.
But nice product. I think they missed a little (true volca format would be better, the modular switches should be reachable without disassembly, and at least one mice input with phantom power would have been nice. For the master section 2 effects would be nice, deciding between compressor and limiter hurts a little.
No idea if its possible to upload the effects of the other nts units (logue sdk).
220€ is still afordable, but at the same time looking what you can get in the used mixer market … And if its for the portability, i think the diy aluminium case is a problem.
For 150 this would have been a steal. But if aomebody has 0 interest in mics, has a skiff and some synths on his desk, this seems to be a genuinly good way to connect your pc and synths to your monitors.
(Oh, what im also interested, is is stereo in per usb , stere out, multichannel in…?)
The NTS-4 features a rugged steel body that provides real-world stability. It has enough weight to stay firmly on your desk even when every input is occupied, so you don’t have to worry about the unit shifting during a performance
So that sounds quite solid, or is that not what you are concerned about with the enclosure?
This is quite tempting as I’ve been looking for a smaller replacement for an old but useful (but 12-channel…) mixer that keeps losing one output channel at inconvenient moments for a long time.
Oh i read in articles and on thoman that uts aluminium, and since its from the nts line i assumed a certain flimsyness. Im ooen to being positively suprized from impressions.
Edit: ok first impression video, as an audio interface it does the expected 2in 2out
midi seems like its just acting as a mirror for other inputs. So no midi control which would have been interesting. Wondering how I would go about fitting this into a eurorack system, looks like it would need to be on some kind of riser system - but maybe Korg will offer an adapter for the task…
Nope, that was a huge letdown after superbooth when confirmed no logue sdk, especially as Korg has been working on breathing new life into the community
Might happen in future, no idea what’s under the hood of it
Any feedback from long-term users? The size is very appealing though, as has been said in this thread, better mixers can be had for cheaper with similar features. I guess you’re paying for the compact size.
Funny question about long term users for an product announced today.
This to me seems like what a volca mix should have been. Then again the volcas are all mono anyway, so the stereo inputs having no panning is a downside.
Or generally: not sure why only the mono ins have panning.
