Korg nts-3 kaoss pad

It’s part of their Nu:Tekt brand, which apparently has a few more items than just the NTS things - just not available here Edit: appears they are, bunch of guitar pedals

I was just thinking about getting some beat synced FX for my Machinedrum and then I saw Loopop’s review. Very timely, well except for the waiting period :grinning:
I think it sounds great and four simultaneous effects will allow for a lot of fun and cool transitions. Also I like the small formfactor. It’ll be easy to find space in the setup for this and fit it in the bag with other gear.

The amount of configuration in the editor is just beautiful.

Ah that explains it.

I did meet a fellow at a korg promo when they toured the volca drum and modular roll out. He had this little oscilloscope that was basically an nts 2, but proto.
I asked him and he explained he’d built it. I don’t know if he was the designer though.

They certainly know what they are doing, I’m getting both the 3 and the 2.

This seems like a very cool device, always liked the idea of kaoss pads but never really cared for the sound, and this really opens that up… well done Korg, for once

Instabuy to upgrade my mini kaoss pad 2. I’ve been dreaming of Korg doing exactly this device for many years.

MIDI synch and custom effect chain, this will be amazing :ok_hand:

I had a very short try at Superbooth, this thing is great! I’ll play more with it today

anyone ever had a crack at using the logue SDK to program stuff?

I am teh coding klutz, but I’ve got a few bits working in arduino… as it’s C/C++ I guess I have a little bit of a headstart?
Going to watch some of the NTS-1 videos that are around and try and get my head round it…

There’s a loguesdk subreddit as well, not seen much in the way of NTS-3 stuff yet tho

I think it’s only actually out in Japan so far. I just ordered one from Japan sort of without realising.
So that’s going to be expensive!

better really lord it for the three weeks I have one and no-one else does.

further to all this loop chat, I just asked Sinevibes about loop length on the new version of their Time plugin and they reckon 12 seconds,
Which is 4 bars at 80bpm (ish)

not too shabby if true!

Cool!

So around 6-7 bars for 120-140 BPM, I’d probably stick with 4 then. But i guess one could opt for summing to mono which would double it

Still 2 months until it’s available on Thomann. I don’t get it.

My open order’s been saying 3-4 weeks for at least 3-4 weeks

I ordered an NTS-3 from the B&H website 2 days ago and it arrived today.

Do you like it?

Yeah, it seems to be a good addition to the NTS line. I’ll be keeping it for the fun factor as a handy little quad-effects box with some routing, performance and tweak options in a small footprint that I’ll feed other small “PCB-fort” instruments, noise boxes, DIY stuff etc into from time to time. That’s all I’m really asking of it to justify its hiked-up price versus the original NTS-1, so I’m sure I’ll miss on the nuances others care about. Hope everyone gets their pre-orders soon.

Some sites in France and nearby are saying 30 August 2024, others a little later.
