Will that speak MS20?
I thought it was a euro standard converter.
I have a beatstep pro (which I think can do Hz/V) so probably a better option to use that.
it will ⦠there are settings for each cv channel to choose type of the signal
BSP will do 2 channels of HZ/V, but not sure if it will transmit CC to CV.
Anyway you can sequence MS with BSP
Iāve used an Analog 4 to sequence the MS-20M and thatās a load of fun, whether by hz/v or v/oct (the M can do both) - itās a shame the MS-20FS cannot have this added, but it would be nigh-on impossible given that the M removed some jacks which were no longer needed with the keyboard removed.
The SQ-1 can either be leader clock or can be clocked by analogue sync too; in the past Iāve used a Volca Bass with a midi in converter to get things in time with an SQ-1, and of course various modular options also exist.
Well damn. I might have to get a CV OCD then.
I tried clocking my SQ1 from a drum machine, it didnt really work.
Edit. Huh. Of course it never worked. Bloody korg and their hopeless manualsā¦
Old MS20s recieve negative voltage gate signals. The SQ1 is set to positive gate by default. So now after much hunting online, i have discovered this very important peice of information. And now have successful clocking of the SQ1 from the trigger out of my TR8S.
Finally.
Also, to sequence notes, you need to be on 8v htz/v setting. But literally every other input on the MS20 , requires 5volts. (To be fair it does have that written on the MS20, although mine is old and the text is faded to almost nothing)
Ppfff no wonder I wasnt getting anywhere.
New ones of these seem to be disappearing from stores⦠I think the ālimited runā is nearing its endā¦
Luckily I found one for $800 so Iām all set
Iād be sad if I didnāt get one before the prices got all jacked up.
Korg have a Black Friday deal on the FS ($999). I couldnāt resist.
Nice! That green one is beautiful.
