Isn't the Analog Four the most incredible and deep instrument from Elektron so far?

i haven’t considered the a4 because i can not afford it. but i am sure it would be perfect for me, like four bass station ii-s  and i can make full songs with one BS2 (plus a hihat from something else) already …

oh btw., can i connect syntakt, digitakt and a4 and have them change patterns together?

like described here:

i’d assume digitakt will trigger pattern change on syntakt and a4. that’d be perfect.

Sure. A4 master, having song mode.
You can use midi thru if you just need sync and want to use midi out for additionnal midi tracks.
(thru sends back what comes in midi in)

A4 out > ST in
ST thru (A4 clock/transport)> DT in
ST out > midi stuff control
DT out > midi stuff control

Another possibility : use midi out and send/receive clock if you want to control the last piece of gear with 2nd one.
That way you can send additional lfos to ST from DT for example…

A4 out > DT in
DT out (sync + midi tracks) > ST in
ST out > midi stuff control
ST thru > midi stuff control from DT midi tracks

Different setups possible…

GASsing for an A4 is making me think about selling my MS-20.

The MS20 is classic but the A4 is a modern interpretation.

It’s a classic air cooled 911 vs a 2022 911 GT2

I’ll use mine like an 1982 Trans Am with Turbo Boost and Super Pursuit Mode.

It’s a shame the sequencer doesn’t have ping-pong mode.

bad idea I reckon. Keep the classics :slightly_smiling_face:
Sequencing the MS20 with an A4 would be a great idea :upside_down_face:

Octatrack is way deeper to me.

@Dataline has a great e.p. + tutorial on this configuration.

I think too many boxes is an underrated problem on this forum. I only use A4 and heat at the moment, might understanding a digit box nect to Thatcher, but more feels like overcomplication to me

Maybe… but your one groovebox is four of my MS-20s plus half an Oxi, or an old MMT-8. The A4’s really complex, wrapped in (I presume) a very good interfsce. Some of us with multiple instruments have one voice per instrument and they can be set-and-forget.

Dammit, I want an A4 more now.
