iPad Music Apps?

Drambo runs on macOS M1 also. so maybe Apple platforms is a better statement.:+1:t3::level_slider:

I’ve not really used Groove Rider, so can’t say in terms of what you’re used to with that workflow, id say give the desktop demo a try when it becomes available, as it it will be more or less the same as the ios version bar the AUV3 feature, see if it’s for you, but from my own experience with it so far, it’s super simple:

  • You got the matrix view to launch your scenes/clips
  • Timeline view to drop steps directly onto track, if you enable the keyboard at the bottom, you hold notes while tapping a step to create a chord for that step.
  • Composer/Piano roll view for more detailed editing of notes
  • Modulation view to setup parameter locking via step-based modulation
  • A mixer view, where you can set up your sends, master fx.

it uses a 128 sample pool too, so you can do some Elektron style sample per step tricks on the modulation view with the sampler engine.

Sounds interesting, thank you. Does it allow for files drag and drop? Sample crate is integral to how I work now.

It has it’s own file browser, you can bookmark folders on the ipad and drag and drop directly onto the sampler, and also load samples into the sample pool, I cant seem to bookmark external apps as folders, e.g. Gdrive and Audioshare are greyed out as locations on the app.

There’s a midi module, Humanizer, which that can be placed per track (as it’s a midi module place before the Midi-CV module). It offers random offset and gate-length and can be p-locked)

Hello, thanks, but i was mostly looking for an app similar to tantra 2.
But speaking of drambo, i may give a try. I wondering, is Drambo good to play stems like the octatrack ?

Yep. Easy to do. I post this every couple months as new users inquire about Drambo.

In the following video i go over how to use Drambo like a Digitakt:

FlexiSampler gives you access to playing loops, notes and Slices and the Taktful instrument rack gives you access to Drumkits per Track within Drambo.

Drambo is as lite or deep as you want to make it. Hopefully the video makes sense and inspires you to create beautiful music :facepunch:t3::level_slider:

Interesting, it does look a lot more focused than Drambo. Looks like it doesn’t have the one thing I was hoping to see, a linear arranger, but it’s still great to have a new entrant in the market.

If Drambo ever adds an arranger, I think I’ll finally start completing tracks on the iPad instead of only using it as a jam station. I know there’s no shortage of linear DAWs on the platform, but I just haven’t found any of them inspiring in the same way Drambo has been.

Are you using the Clip Launcher/Song Mode in Drambo. This was a great addition to the overall workflow.

Has anyone tried drambo on M1 Mac? Curious to see it works with vst effects and instruments

OK, I bought Drambo and tried Taktful. It looks interesting! I’m very used to the Elektron workflow, so I suppose it’s a good approach.

However, because everything is on the same sequencer, it’s a bit tricky for me. Is there any way to play my samples chromatically with the keyboard? Also, because everything is on the same sequencer, I can’t use the small quick sequencer without having all my channels on it, making it somewhat useless. Is there any way to bypass that?

Oh yeah, it’s great! I think if I could just put those scenes on a timeline and add some automation curves I’d be set.

Just checked… Drambo on M1 Mac can see other iOS-supporting AUv3 plugins that can also be installed on the M1 Mac, but it does not see OSX AUv3 or VST plugins.

Klevgrand has a sale in right now. Prices are hovering around the 40-50% off range in the App Store.

Cheers! Pads and Squash It purchased! All of the apps I’ve purchased from them do sound incredible. The only thing that puts me off is the brow raising, forehead crinkling price. I did want their drum designer thingy but I can’t see it for looking and I’ve no idea what it’s called because they often give their apps Swedish names.

Edit - I’m having a butchers on my phone so it’s only showing apps compatible with this device. I’m going to grab my iPad now and go down some bank digits.

Edit - I am one happy shopper! Thanks again for the heads up!

Not a music app but I’m not sure it needs its own thread either.

Looks like it might be useful tho for iPad owners

Q… what is the absolute hands down best Multi FX suite on IOS, doesn’t have to be an AU, if it allows you to import samples, do trippy stuff/mangle to them and export them?

btw (outside of drambo)

AI Upscaling / Pro Version for 5$

I was thinking about the existence of someone coding this together and here it is though :flying_saucer:

I couldn’t get it to recognize a Nintendo Switch. I prefer Genki Studio for this. Plus it doesn’t have a bunch of faux-retro styling, which gets old fast
