iPad Music Apps?

Nice FM synth, but no MPE like ID700 has.

Not a deal breaker for me, as I have plenty of MPE synths. I get every FM synth app anyway to compliment my Digitone Keys.

Might have to check that one out.
Ive been looking for a nice FM ipad synth, so far the UIs have put me off most of the contenders. Not that I I dont enjoy my digitone, dont get me wrong, I just like synths

Edit:
Nah, not for me. Way too fiddly and busy screen.

is it not really feasible for some enterprising dev to come up with an ipad os emulator app that allows you to play old apps that you want to keep around… asking for a friend who knows nothing about making apps?

I still have Rhythm Studio by Pulsecode who seems to no longer exists as a developer, I also loved the sound of their app Modular but it’s gone, even wiped out from my past purchases, hate when things just disappear like that

cross post from sw deals.
Bleass Sale
.

I grabbed the filter for $2. kinda cool, I guess.
Slow machine seems interesting - anybody have this? I’m wondering if it can do grossbeat/shaperbox type effects or if it’s more just a performative tape stop (one trick pony). The demo video is nice, but brief…

Plenty of other discounts in this line. I could use a better reverb - $4.99… worth it? or just pay the $30 for the baby audio app?

yeah basically I want everything back from the age of strange agency

Loved them too

I should start noting on my bandcamp all the rare and vintage apps I used in my productions :sunglasses:

they returned for a stint a while back, I’m not sure if they’re stayed though

I find myself going back to sunrizer a lot

you guys piqued my interest so I looked up strange agency, and I found the ā€œOpen Granularā€ app. certainly cool for the low, low price of free. But feels more like a proof of concept than anything else. if there’s a way to record your own sound, it’s not obvious (to me).

I see you’re talking about this one, don’t have this one

someone in the reviews said they can’t record audio or save

check this out

A quick heads-up that ApeMatrix is on sale - I’ve never tried it because it felt a bit redundant after committing to AUM, but as it’s currently under Ā£5 it seems sensible to give it a go.

Had some fun with this when it came out but haven’t touched it for years… worth it for the price just to try it out and see if you enjoy, the routing was pretty cool once you wrapped your head around it

Yeah that app is not so great. I particularly loved Curtis, a granular synth/sampler and Slicer, it was like a deck with 2 sides that cut a sample into blocks that you could rearrange and crossfade, but basically, these apps were out even before audiobus I believe and back then I used to record myself playing them into a digital 8 track, so take after take of me playing along with myself until enough layers made a song. I love them out of nostalgia now more than anything else.

Oh, and the absolute joy of trying to press play/record at exactly the right time to keep sequences in time lol

Anyone else used Polywave?

I just got it yesterday, not bad actually. wavetable synth, with some interesting features. Cheap too.

Just bought it. Works perfectly with the Syntakt. Anyone knows how to import an audio file ? Maybe copy/paste ?

A friend just gave me an iPad so I’m not confortable with all stuff. Unfortunately there is a brocken headphones plug stuck in it, I’ll try to remove it with a small screw after drilling.

May or may not be relevant to how you want to use it but if you connect it to a Mac via USB you can stream the audio to the Mac

This is always a bit more of a hassle on iPad than it should be IMO! You might be able to do it via the ā€œFilesā€ app (which is the built in file browser thing on iOS). Alternatively I would guess you might want the AudioShare app, which lets you store a collection of samples and share them to toner apps. Others can probably weigh in better here, definitely my least favourite aspect of iOS music making and I’ve never really spent the time to work out a good way of doing it

Ok thanks ! No audio problem with ST, I have a Camera Kit 3, use midi+audio via usb…
No Mac. But I try to remove the stuck headhones jack for standalone use (bluetooth have too much latency).

What’s your favorite ?
I was interested in hardware granular synths like GR1, then Lemondrop, but now I have an iPad, I think it’s a no brainer…
