iPad Music Apps?

Amazing update, amazing app. Best app. Sold my sp404 mk2, I use this app more and have more fun with it.

I hope with the solo and mute button, that there can be an option to latch them at some point.

Motion recording with the fx would be amazing down the line too. Or being able to use the fx specifically with individual instruments vs the whole beat.

Solo and mute are both midi mappable, if you have a midi controller that can latch, this is possible.

You can run multiple instances of koala in AUM, if they all have the same project loaded up, you could isolate effects/samples that way.

Koala fx is also available as an AUM effects send… https://www.koalasampler.com/koala-fx/

To add to the post above, Koala with AUv3 IAP offers multiout which allows you to route 8 buses out of a single master instance (no need to open 8 master instances as mentioned above).
Makes it very easy to export your stems and 8 buses is plenty.

All my Moog apps presets are now free. Get them into your iOS Moogs and make cool stuff. Altogether over 100 presets. Good for idm, braindance, techno, electro and zoning out in your bedroom.

Edit: I added more links because after viewing my downloads it seemed as if nobody understood that there was more than one pack? Everyone was just downloading the same singular pack. Anyway, there they are.

I’ve searched in this topic and haven’t found the answer - apologies if it’s there and I missed it! Could someone advise if there is an iOS app that allows for importing 64 slice sample chain for sequencing either internally or via external MIDI? I have a bunch of apps including which import samples but the ones I’ve tried struggle with 64 samples. Samplr for instance can’t make chops of over 32. I know I could adapt the chains I already have but it’s a lot of effort and I’d rather just use what I have. :frowning:

Considering a new iPad Air as a replacement for my aging Mini and an extension for my Macbook. My main concern is the lack of audio I/O - how do people with a portless iPad find they get on? I’ve got a few devices that could act as interfaces if I find myself doing something ā€œseriousā€, but for fooling around on the sofa etc. I guess I’d want a straightforward USB-C headphone adapter, to avoid too much clutter / baggage. Anything to avoid? Anything that works particularly well? Just cram in a Ā£5 adapter off Amazon and relax?

I use the apple branded usb c to jack adapter with no issues. I’ve used non apple before on iPhone etc and has issues so thought I’d go for official apple one

I know Koala only has equal slices of 16, but you could import a 64 sample chain to a pad, equal slice to 4 and assign them to 4 pads, then then slice them to 16 ? not ideal but quite quick work flow and it has 4 banks of 16 pads.

Thanks! I just gave it a go and yes, it worked! I imported an equal 32 slice chain and while it wasn’t perfect, I was able to iron it out and really quickly get all 32 chops onto individual pads. Koala really is crazy flexible.

How about Andrew Huang’s Flip Sampler? That thing looks great and he’s super into his music so would expect it to be decent.

Yeah, the transient chop goes way up high on the slice count…so if it’s just single one shot hits you’ve got, good to go

I’ve not tried it tbh, see video’s of it in actions and it does look well thought out and fast, but i’ve got enough samplers really and don’t need anymore

It was also coded by the same guy as elastic drums, which is also top notch.

Thanks again! Elastic Drums is one I’ve been meaning to download for a while. Got DM1, DM2 and Fractal Bits, plus Ruismaker Noir and the Drum Computer demo. Fractal Bits is surprisingly fun to sample and Drum Computer is wicked.

Yeah, this is how I feel about it too. With Koala being an AUv3 plugin these days there’s really no need at all for me to have anything else space perhaps for Audiolayer if I want to use EXS instruments

ā€œFractal Bits, plus Ruismaker Noir and the Drum Computerā€

All fantastic, especially Noir…I always come back to it. Drum computer is amazing too and I paid for the upgrade…but I rarely use it for some reason, so many great apps but so little time (sob sob  )

Drum Computer is savage on CPU resources if I try using in any other configuration besides standalone… but I still don’t regret buying it because it’s genuinely superb

Just fired up Drum Computer as it’s been months, so intuitive & sounds great, did a little 4 bars, happy days  :

Glad everyone is looking Drum Computer, I like it enough to have made a bunch of sample chains out of it. The free demo is extremely generous as well.

This really is a great application.
If I were to ever make a drum VST it would be that. Oh… apart from the niggling low end that gets cut off. I wonder why they did that??? Maybe the balance of all the other instruments?

Thesys is another great app by these tremendous human beings. I love what it has been doing to my OB6 and Rings.

Yep, Thesys is an absolute gem!
I bang on about it anytime iOS sequencers come up…
