iPad Music Apps?

Why’s that? I’ve only ever heard high praises of eventide

I only mean I don’t have personal experience. I actually bought the Blackhole plugin, but I haven’t used it yet. I’m sure they’re at least very good. Things can vary across platforms, though.

Thank you, I shall investigate this, truly appreciated :+1::pray::muscle:

EDIT @handed
Thank you so much for suggesting Polythemus, it is exactly the thing I was looking for and I’m so grateful to you passing on the knowledge!
It has some great modes for splitting midi out and if anyone’s interested it works with mono too not just chords
I am indebted

Blackly Fridayed? Blackened-Friday?

Hi everyone, does anyone own Korg IMs 20 or iDS-10?
Could you please report to Apple crashes on both apps and ask KORG to update them? They were not updated for over TWO years!
Instant crash if you try to enter sound presets.
Thanks, would be a shame if Korg doesn’t update them.
I actually got iPad because of iMS-20:)

Blackhole is fantastic, far and away the best iOS reverb I’ve tried…

By coincidence, I fired it up for the first time last night. There are some pretty interesting artist presets!

Yeah like any good preset most of them do an awesome job of showcasing what the app can do, if you haven’t already got it I can highly recommend other desert cities by audiodamage, just an amazing delay imho …

Thanks for the rec! I have just picked up Rymdigare, which is a lot of fun, and Lunar Lander, which I have not tried yet.

The dev has shared he WANTS to do external sync in AUM but it’s more difficult than expected and he wants it to be flawless. Can’t argue with either point. Love AUM!

Anyone aware of an app similar to MIDI Link Sync, but featuring start/stop transport available in Link?

I’m receiving MIDI clock from the outside on the iPad and need to translate it to link to control some music apps. It works great with MIDI Link Sync, but no start/stop transport as far as I can tell…

use the transport of the app running link?

that works but I’d like the transport to start automatically so that I grab the beginning in time (it’s for sampling on a SP 404 MKII)

Audiobus
You can then e.g. host AUM inside it

Small question, I want to connect my babyface pro to my iPad Air 2019.

i have an anker 7in1 usb c hub that I use for my MacBook, would it work for my ipad too if I use a lighting to USB c adapter?

The goal here is to not buy an official apple camera connection kit as I have a very capable anker hub.

Firstly I don’t know the answer for sure, but based on my past experience of lightning to USB adaptors I’d say it’s very unlikely. The camera adaptor contains a chip that prevents other manufacturers from making them so you are forced to buy from Apple. A few years ago I bought a couple of them and neither worked so I just bought the adaptor in the end. That kind of practice should be illegal imo, but I had to just get it and move on. It’s now 4-5 years old and no longer charges the iPad when plugged in although still works for powering other devices and so I’ll have to buy another one soon.

Things may have changed since then, but I doubt it, the Apple business model tends to be about overpriced accessory exploitation.

Hmmmm. Ok ok. Thanks for your answer. It’s a bit of a puzzle to add an iPad into a hardware setup to say the least. I mean luckily I have a babyface pro to interface with but then I can use it as my main interface anymore forcing me to make the iPad brain of the setup. Which is fine for jamming I guess, what I’m mostly geared towards atm.

I want to use the iPad mainly as a looping device with loopy pro.

Not that puzzling. You need the camera kit to supply power. Lightning iPads barely power anything bus powered. You’d need that if your using the baby face on the iPad as the main interface.

If you looking to keep your MacBook in the mix, the options are use IDAM, which is a stereo pair over lightning, or run Studiomux which will give you multichannel over lightning with a host app on the MacBook.

Although personally I’m not sure why you’d need to run loopy as a looper when you mac can more than handle it.

There’s some other ways but those are pretty straight forward.
Studiomux has some mixed reviews. Personally I haven’t had any issues with the newer version, but yymv.

I also don’t run a laptop.
