if i could add a few suggestions as someone who has almost synth and effect…
best reverb on ios imo is -
FAC - alteza . it’s marketed as a shimmer reverb, and it is… but it can be suttle and a whole lot deeper then a standard reverb.
-klevgrand reamp- a spacial saturation effect that just makes everything sound better…fatter…richer…almost as if it was recorded from an instrument thru an amplifier. i think it’s on sale for half off right now for 10$, usually 20$.
-audio damage panstation2- brings a lot of life to the mix, lots of cool panning configurations.
-klevgrand modley- a really cool delay with a bunch of cool effects you can add to the chain right in the app, youtube it!
beepstreet drambo cuz…drambo
must have synths…
-beepstreet zeeon and sunrizer
-bram bos ripplemaker- like the 0 coast
-factory and aparillo from sugarbytes
-spacecraft- so great
i could go on, but i feel those are some of the absolute best.
I prefer mirack by far but other people are smarter than me. Mirack is like 1:1 virtual euro, Audulus seems deeper and a bit beyond my understanding. I’m sure you can fully code a synth from the ground up. The interface makes me feel more like I’m inside a synth, or in a whiteboard full of the code that makes a synth work. Mirack just lets me mash things together and see what happens
@Unifono you absolutely need spacecraft! pads, arpeggios, plucks, soundscapes you name it!
i have both mirack and audulus but i just am not good enough to hang in the audulus environment…’maybe someday!!! but its just really for the dedication and people who really understand that world like its their main language…
i need to dive into modular deeper… in able to get around in mirack as it makes more sense to me seeing the modules, the connections and being able to think it thru.
mirack looks cool, but I would just open up vcv rack on my laptop to get that sort of feeling.
Audulus is about as deep as you can get, but it’s not as daunting as it seems. I’ve never built my own modules. There’s a whole community of people who build modules for it. I was just starting to get into modular when I found Audulus, and it really helps you to “think modularly.”
Oh and in the world of non-modular, not-so-complicated stuff, I still have a lot of love for the Micrologue, which is the synth that is bundled with Cubasis. I have a lot of other synths, many of them with more features, but Micrologue has the most convincing “analog” character imo.
Other great Auv3 synths are Spacecraft (obviously), Zeeon, PPG Infinite.
nice! man it is such a great synth… i love that it plays two layers in each instance to get real nice sounds, try the arp preset it is a good idea on how to get a nice arp going using the top and bottom crafts
sequenced Tal uno lx with Xynthesizr last night. It’s still an amazing sequencer. Wish it was Auv3 or that you could sequence several midi channels.
Do you guys know similar sequencer as Xynthesizr that allow to sequence more instances?
I have fugue machine and quantum, both are great, but Xynthesizr feels really hands on, jam optimised.
Bram bos noir through eventide crush station , manglevrb.
Both companies apps are superb.
6 x Lfo routed into noir to adjust lots of parameters like a crazy modular system
Picked up an iPad Pro (a fool and his money and all that…) and started to load my favourite apps on to it. About 2/3 of them aren’t available any more! Sake! I’m moving from an iPad Air v1 which in iPad land is archaic with my favourite stuff either being long superseded or on the old 32bit platform.
Guess that means I just have to go on a selective spending spree then…
Gutted that Pirates! isn’t available any longer though
On the positive side there’s a lot of great newer stuff to use, don’t worry man I’m sure you won’t lack things to play with. iOS is very easy to end up with more apps than you can ever use. I’ve got shit loads, some of them only come out very occasionally. Still though every time I think I’m spending loads on apps I realise that collectively they still cost a tiny fraction of what I spend on a synth. Definitely lost a whole lot more money buying and flipping synths than ive ever spent on apps
