I was looking for a way to quickly record a stereo file from my drum machine to my iPhone instead of having to use a laptop and so on:

Btw I use a Motu M2 with iPhone 7 and the original USB3 Adapter and everything works like a charm!

Agreed - I definitely see the appeal of going fully dawless and recording all your performances / capturing quick ideas on guitar or whatever / carrying it everywhere and recording natural sounds for sampling purposes. I definitely believe that well-designed objects make you want to pick them up and use them more.
I’m just unsure I’ll actually do those things and I have ways to do all of those already using things I already own. They’re just, of course, not as cool : )
I think the price is so high so when you make that purchase you‘ll eagerly try to find the most suitable workflow to integrate it anywhere and ideally that turns into just doing the essentials and selling the other things, the clunky ones.
I mean basically I‘ve never used the phantom power on the H6 and from there the audio didn’t ask for a big clunky xlr socket and a dynamic mic with the right cable will do just fine on the tx6/tp7 inputs.
but this 4 track tape app would be amazing to put the Iphone where the TP7 sits in conjunction with a tx6 via usb

beta testing this app I can say it’s an amazing alternative and a dumb ass 4/8 channel multitrack recorder, looper, background player, field recorder, cues, sampler etc etc
the haptic feedback on the spinning plate and buttons make it feel like a rumble module for the op-z.
I would even go as far as using an offline iphone to serve as hardware recorder with this App

Is it easy to sync playback with a TE device (like op xy)?
Also interested to know if its easy to do punch ins and whether theres options for doing mixdown, like including send effects? (imagining a bit like a portastudio)

I have an old iPhone 5 with headphone jack that would be perfect with this.
I dunno how the backwards-compatibility is right now but will try with an iPhone 6 but idk if that’s even capable of testflighting apps ^^

midi things are on a high priority, things like midi cues and control etc.
by today it’s standalone only but the initial spark was to easily make multitrack recordings from the op1f, therefore the 4 track stereo / 8 track mono mixer and recorder.
I’d recommend to reach out via Reddit to take part of the beta testing, super responsive backlash of bug reports and such
Is there a subreddit specifically for it?
I’m excited for them to announce this mixer. I think there’s a real hole in the market for a (edit: a dawless performance focussed) mini mixer with some decent effects at a reasonable price. If it’s good it’d be a problem solver for compact setups. Way better than daisy chaining grooveboxes together lol.

Hi all, I’m Tug from Reel. Happy to answer any questions on here. As Johnny mentioned, I can confirm midi implementation will come to the app after initial release. This includes midi sync with hardware that supports it and midi mapping later on for cues etc.
The build now supports iOS18+.

Does Reel support a musical grid based on bars, beats, and ticks (Bar:Beat:Tick), or is it limited to a time-based timeline (H:MM:SS)?
Hi Elijah,
Musical grid will be coming in a feature update after the initial launch of the app. This is a high priority feature to work on.
It will be a time-based timeline in the UI with the ability to use grid based bars, that you can skip forward or back to with precise alignment to the bar. There is also a count in feature for recording on the bars.
I will create an issue to implement the option to flip between bar beats ticks and timebase in the future.
