Long term reviews will show how people feel about song composition on it. My impression is that a lot of production time is going to spent on sequencer programming and configuring FX here. Will that lead to creative blocks? Will be interesting to see how people feel about starting a project, taking a break, and then getting back into it to see if they can pick up as easily as where they left off. The more you have to program, the more you have to look.
I think a lot of Elektronauts will come to the realization they prefer the simpler/faster/more readable layout of the digis.
I think this is a dream device for me. It looks so heavily creative and open to experimentation. My whole sound revolves around sample manipulation - and my plan for next year was to get some pedals for the DTII, I think this will work much better for that given the routing and extra outs. not sure if I’d want both samplers, probably not but we’ll see.
Yeah this hit the exact thing I was looking for. A stereo sampler compliment to the sp1200. I’m honestly stunned they made this since it has rack sampler/ workstation vibes to it. I did not plan on buying this thing , but here we are.
Slicing is the big thing, but I am assuming that we will see that added later on. It will be interesting to see what you can do using parameter locking on the sample variables.
Tbh this is the kinda box where I’d love to see the devs turn up to Nicks office for another SonicLabs. Just give some insight into their process and thoughts on it.
It’s quiet hard to read through all the static, but is there any inter track modulation on this machine?
Envelope followers, pitch trackers etc. That would be my no 1 feature for any groovebox and seems like elektron ( and others) constantly omit these type of features…
