Surprised to see Thomann availability has being moving from 3-4 days, to 2-3 weeks and now 3-4 weeks, I suppose production is constrained or demand is high.

I stand corrected.

When I last checked a couple of hours ago they were still the cheapest I’m the uk but Ā£40+ so I suspect they’re getting vested with orders that outstretch their allotments.

Yes. These seem to stay in tune at the extremes, more so than Rytm.

Very cool pattern but no, not mine.

Anyone know if external inputs > into analog effects > to output includes any AD-DA-conversion? I have not found a definitive answer in the manual unless I just don’t understand the signal path illustration there and I haven’t read every single post here yet

@AdamJay (and others who’ve had it already)

Was nice to catch your live stream Yesterday, gave a good immediate idea of how the machines sounded and acted. Kick sounded great.

I’m curious to ask: How do you see yourself using Syntakt considering the rest of your instruments?

Would you use it for example in conjunction with OT like you did with your M:S live set last year? (Or was is M:C?)

Or would you use it by itself you think?

To me I could imagine that due to its lack of Kits (which I like in the bigger boxes); I probably would use it without Project Change on, in conjunction with an OT or something else that can keep playing while I switch to new patterns on the Syntakt. Curious what first impressions you have that shed some light on how this would play well with others bits in a setup.

I’ll use it with my dual OT setup for live work. OT will handle transitions and add some limiting to the output.

Syntakt by itself for studio work. Recording live into Ableton and finishing any necessary arranging there.

Really good that it can do both of these roles then

I just caved and pre-ordered - KMR, UK £799

no Elektron in my life since selling my Digitakt last year…& it’s been a bit weird as I was an original Silver boxes owner since year zero.

I really like the 'takt - but realised I hated sampling pretty much - I’m a synth guy, so the Syntakt had my attention, mainly because it will play a couple of handy roles :

It’ll replace my (awesome)Squid as the sequencer for my Easel Command when I play live ( it’s a lot smaller than the Squid - this matters ! ) & of course secondly, it’ll also add a load of extra synth firepower in supporting roles to the Buchla - pads, fx , counterpoints, ear-candy…
I’m quite excited by the Analog FX block too & what that will bring to the table.

And yes -I don’t produce any music with drums on it… I just have a feeling the Syntakt is going to perfect.

No. It stays analog. The only thing digitized is the signal sent to the digital FX sends, but the outputs of those are mixed back with the analog signal on the way to output. Just like all other analog Elektrons.

I just have to say I am beyond stoked on this release. Bit of a ā€œbest of Elektronā€ compilation as opposed to a new album, so to speak, but as someone who’s been eyeballing the RYTM, Cycles and Heat combination for years this is like a dream come true.

That said it should be interesting to see what they do next, as I imagine it will be something entirely new.

I would be willing to bet that there is in there somewhere. Like mixing the analog FX and digital FX or something, or likely the inputs, where you can mix the inputs with internal digital effects and adjust input volume. I would love to have a definitive answer though.

MAAAAAN that price! Wish I saw this before I ordered haha. Hows stock though? I ordered from Andertons UK and they shipped at lunch with DHL.

I didn’t see the Dual switch on the External Inputs page (Mixer page 3). This option is in the Audio Routing menu under External In. I wonder why it’s different from the Digis.

oh nice one

Well yeah, I’m going to have to wait a bit - they’re expecting stock mid - end of next week, but I wasn’t in a massive rush. my next gig isn’t until June… loads of time !

Any EU retailers that have stock?

@AdamJay - Hi, when a pattern is playing, does M1 retrig snap to the beat of the music? or do you need to be ultra precise when pressing the button for it to be in line with the grid of the pattern playing? Hope that makes sense, I always felt this was lacking with Rytm retrig, to have the option to snap at least. Thanks

Oh and one more thing - does the M1 retrig shuffle to the master shuffle?
