Question for UK folk and sorry if this is not the right place but got a bit of a shock just now - are you really meant to pay import tax etc on top of the price if you order direct from Elektron?? It was £899 already and it’s around the same price at other retailers.
Hah, I don’t plan on going anywhere this weekend just in case they wind up delivering it on a Sunday again. Was so frustrating with the DT2, I arrived home literally within 10 minutes of it being stolen. Sweetwater did eventually get me a replacement though, just took a few months
Kinda surprised there aren’t more videos today, must not have sent out as many demo units this time? I feel like there were dozens of DT2 videos within a day of the announcement
I think it speaks to the depth of the machine as well. I’d have issues trusting a deep dive that was made in a short period of time, although I do need to watch that loopop comparison between DN and DNII because he usually outlines the major points in a pretty straightforward manner, though I don’t always have the attention span to keep up with the speed at which his tutorials move.
Elektron ships from Sweden so It seems logical that it will be import fees since UK is not part of EU anymore.
There’s soo many great posts here, but I still want to randomly shout that I just bought one and I’m happy.
That’s what I thought but then it’s £899 on there, and £850-870 elsewhere in the uk. I assumed they had some kind of deal like Thomann for example. Has anyone ordered to the UK from them directly and have any experience? Or is this just a FedEx F up?
So is this the Tonverk everyone has been expecting?
Ordered mine yesterday @ Thomann - delivery announced for tomorrow?
Can’t believe it - but keeping my fingers crossed
Any idea how many voice are eaten consumed by a swarmer machine?
My initial guess was one - but probably could also be seven?
Any hint is highly appreciated
Cheers
flo
edit: already sold out @ Thomann (restock announced for next week
)
Just one
Thanks!
This could be a lot of fun
Did you get a bill from FedEx? I’m also in UK and ordered from Elektron here…… but didn’t receive a tracking number yet. If I’m paying £899 to buy from Elektron to the UK I would really expect that it’s sent DDP (delivery duties paid) with any Uk vat/duties already paid by them.
Your looking at 25 percent import duties.
Unless explicitly stated, I would never assume this.
My case!!! I’ve played tons of shows with it. I updated to DT II and added a few scratches to the case. Thanks again, it’s been perfect.
One voice per note, same as the other machines (except midi)
Personally, I’d expect buyers to be charged a lower price than 899gbp (ie excluding local sales tax) if tax is to be paid on import.
So I don’t think it’s unreasonable for UK buyers to assume that Elektron are organised with these things, use DDP (or the local Uk distribution partner to ship) and therefore the 899 price includes import duty.
But time will tell I guess!
Boxed up and sold the og DN and model cycles this afternoon. Still got a neutron floating around on reverb but since I’ve shifted the first 2 I feel justified in pulling the trigger on the new box. I was supposed to be selling my push 2 as well. Turned it on for the first time in a couple of years to take some photos and stood gazing at the pretty colours and the waveform that popped up when I fired up simpler. Maybe it still has a place.
If it is not confirmed on-page, it is not likely true.
I don’t recall Elektron offering discounts from from their site in the same manner that whatever distributors do. I also don’t recall them having better prices on product launch, thought they were pretty close to MSRP.
Edit: For expectation setting-

Prices for countries that are a part of the European Community include VAT as required by law. Orders outside the European Community do not have any sales tax added.
My case. RTFM time…
