Elektron guys said mono.
Stereo is speculation.
I have fun with Ot.
MPC has individual outputs. This has no individual outputs.
The only thing that is possible right now is speculation.
You missed my point. Obviously the MPC is an entirely different machine with different features. Iām just saying it was originally intended for one use and became something much more. Letās give the Elektron guys some time and space and let them do their thing. Half the people complaining are gonna own one six months from now.
I think itās ok to talk about the Digitakt with the only information that is available. This is a discussion forum. I wouldnāt worry about Elektronās space.
Personally, Iām only interested if it can handle stereo samples. So far, the MPC Live is more compelling to me. But yeah, Iām not willing to make any final judgments or put blind faith into anything until I know enough about it.
Ah, Iām over it now. Iām gonna love it either way, mono or not,
One thing I like is the form factor. It could be mighty impressive in my setup and take up a negligible amount of space.
In his defence, this post is looping through the same discussions and a contradiction might break the cycle.
I donāt agree with you.
I was hyped when it was revealed, but now that I own OT, A4, and AR, I donāt see the point of getting this? I would love to, but why?
Youāre probably fine with the 3 flagship machines.
I donāt think youāre the intended market for Digitakt.
At this stage it seems to be the sample playback side of RYTM (which you have) with added sampling and midi sequencingā¦
Seems you have all that covered tho the sequencer will be new generation and it has a nicer screen in a cute form factor. (Would have been nice to offer s battery option imho to compliment that)
Main thing this offers you at this stage is new gen midi sequencing⦠I think.
Oh man was just sure to get an OT when money is thereā¦now I donĀ“t know what to doā¦Really need a Sequencer/ Sampler to sequence Virus and record something from the Smith Evolverā¦Hm think IĀ“ll wait till April to check the Digitaktā¦man
I think Iāve got a nice little thing cooking here. A Korg Monologue and a Volca Sample as a foundation for the track - design for sequences, beats, loops and atmospherics. And a Yamaha Reface for polyphony, pads and stuff.
All that goes into the DigiTrak, where the trackās built with sequencing, additional one shots and drums, layering and stuff.
Given the nature of the Monologue, VSample and Reface CS, I think theyād sound just great in mono, their somewhat broken and dirty nature more or less crying out for all kinds of saturation and stuff anyway.
So with those as sources, the DigiTrak as hub, and boom, youāve got yourself a nice little setup with portable gear, and all of this for not even the price of one high end Elektron instrument.
do i understand this correctly, the digitakt can be externally midi sequenced and be able to use trig conditions? something that only works when using the internal elektron sequencer on rytm and a4/k?
No-go
Iād say āthe digitakt can sequence external midi gear and is able to use trig conditionsā
Should be controlled externally too but not very interesting.
I guess the sample engine is somehow like the drumsampler of the op-1, with 8 tracks and sequencer madness. 1 lfo + motionsequencing (cycling through waveforms etc.) could be fun. And playing samples chromatic from an external keyboardā¦
