Introducing Digitakt

I’m right there with you. I pre ordered and I am not backing out now but i am adding saving pattern chains to my list of requests… I don’t play live but was banking on the Digitakt for composing songs and still want that pattern chaining saved someplace on the machine. Unless there is something goofy about the data structure I can’t see this not being added to the machine.

Edit: still gonna use it to compose songs, but it sounds like I’ll need a pad and pen to keep track of my pattern chains.

oh, wait…sorry I ordered mine at robotspeak on height. oops…but yeah…SF…hate it huh?

Bit shocked you can’t retain even one chain in memory when you switch off… ‘centre of your setup’? Alternative to song mode? And Overbridge ‘later this year’? There goes my dream of using DT as a sound card when travelling in a travel laptop setup with 0 coast and Erebus in the near future. Sigh!

I’m developing misgivings over the communication strategy on this product. Promised OB capability now ‘later this year’… and ‘something special’ on the master isn’t there.

Midi tracks do look awesome, and I’m sure we’re going to see more development. But I’m thinking of cancelling my (due June 9) pre-order and revisiting once OB is in place and working for others. Still definitely in the market for a new (sampling) drum machine, but given the price here, solid sync and travel-soundcard capability were part of the attraction for me in all honesty.

Pattern chain saving seems like a simple future upgrade fix to me.

If it were a first world problem, I would just buy it anyway and hook it up to more Elektron stuff so it would actually do what I need it to do. I think it’s more of an underpaid artists tool-problem, tbh.

Nice; still a bit of pen and paper but atleast I won’t have to reconstruct each song everytime I want to work on it. It would be nice to have a pattern chain save in the master section so you could apply the pattern chain to whichever bank/project you’re in. Similar to kits on the MD in normal mode.

Kinda glad it doesn’t have a compressor.
That would have made it irresistible for me, as a standalone sofa jammer.

But without a comp, I’ll just focus on what I have (AR + AK).

There are artists in all cultures.

No song mode was established early on, but (I believe) @Ess chimed in with pattern chaining being a suitable replacement not too far back into this thread…

Desire & Despair. Together again.

Well, yeah…I hear you…I find it hard to complain about this city (I’ve lived in quite a few). the more imperfections that I concentrate on the more unhappy it makes me. It’s a city and there will always be things I dont like about it, but I just try to work from within. Try to work on my community. My building is up for demolition soon. I am just enjoying my last time here.
As for Robotspeak. I hope it all works out for me. He said he was pissed he only ordered 3 at NAMM. He has way more interest than he thought he would.

for me, my HEAT is the compressor… kind of
I think with 2 aluminium strips, screwed under the units, I can attache them
and route the heat phones to the Digitakt in…

might be nice, for on the sofa

East Bay is Best Bay🙃 But it seems like SF’s problems are spilling over the bridge more and more

My guess is that it will be in an update. Seems too obvious not to have on the master page.

I lived in West Oakland for 4 years before I moved here 3 years ago. Love Oakland…Love SF. My partner lives in Oakland, so I am there a lot. Yeah. Everything is changing rapidly. I also spend a lot of time in Mexico…Same is happening to all cities.

would love to see some creative fx added later (either on the master or as sends effects)
Something crazy like OP1 CWO would be nice.
