Introducing Digitakt II

Not seen it mentioned in the vids I’ve watched yet, but one of my favourite new features is SAVE P-LOCK AS PRESET: Hold a trig (in Step Rec) and tap the PRESET/KIT button to bring up a menu to save the trig’s settings and its sample as a new preset. Great feature!

seems like such a lovely machine (i loved the Mk I) but i have an OT and Live Suite so i can’t really justify buying this, much as i’d like to. i wish so, so much that the OT would get some love, either in terms of minor firmware tweaks or a true successor model.

Oh actually…

Not sure how it is used but it does say “zoom” on a page that has a waveform on it. I’m not sure whether that was on MKI (I never had one).

Anyone see it posted for sale on Elektron yet?

Yeah, that anwered my question. Thank you

Polyphony though… There’s 16 tracks. Imagine using only 6 of them to play a sound polyphonically.

That’s the only thing missing for me. That and an Arpeggiator of course…

I think it technically needs two voices yeah, because there needs to be another copy of the sound playing and fading in while the first fades out. There might be some clever stuff one could do with a delay buffer or something but really you just need the ability to have polyphony on one track. That would make a poly/chord machine mode possible too which a lot of people would like to ahve.

Digitakt Mk1 prices will go down significantly, I suppose.

totally agree.

Bet they could with a simple firmware update and then we move the buttons ourselves!

Can anyone link the manual? I can’t get on t the site.

You can, misread your post. All the tracks + inputs + send fx can be routed (or not) to the compressor.

What about transfer speeds? Asked Captain Pikant:

“We couldn’t get the USB data transfer rate for uploads above 0.33 MiB/s. The download is faster, but hopefully this can be improved in a future update.”
