Introducing Digitakt II

Well, Global mode was removed

No, Global FX are not yet a thing on DTII.
No info on this (= pure speculation), but I expect some new paradigm that would cover this aspect.
In, say, a year or two.
Or just a firmware update that would bring it back.

Ermmm … mono sampling ?

Overbridge.

Loopcloud integration

EDIT: Before anyone says, yes, I know mono sampling and overbridge return have been promised and delivered

that’s not elektronauts, that’s all of social media

TBH it’s life … if everything carries on exactly as you expect (no features removed) … not a lot to talk about. Something controversial (features removed, or arriving later than expected) … something to talk about.

And yes, controversy drives (the monetisation of) social media.

Clearly to accomodate Projects compatibility between the 2 versions.

I strongly disagree with that. :content:

I don’t miss anything from DT1.

Nothing? How do you know which track to put the cowbell on, it’s not labeled anymore?!??

Everyone knows you’ve got to put the cowbell on every track.

there are some omissions but i agree with your sentiment…

I did it here, Octatrack :

With DT1, only one possible…

I love the sound of the box, never thought i would use br and srr so much, it gives interesting overtones.
I like the 16 tracks too, its really a good song construction unit (for my simple needs!).

I hope for mono sampling soon, thats something I really would like to see now.
Its frustrating for me to have mono soundsources on the desktop and have no way in the box to make simple mono soundfiles. Sometimes I really don’t need or want stereos. Hope this comes more soon than later, fingers crossed.

If it had midi retrig, midi arp and midi transpose (in songmode) I could live with dt2 as main brain.
I really miss those things…

It’s not perfect, but what else is…

You mean Loopcloud integration, or did I miss something and there is some kind of Splice integration with the OG DT also?

Yes, sorry, will edit.

Also the ability to see the file size in the sample manager.

Hello! I bought DT2 yesterday and have never worked with Electron products before. I immediately noticed one thing as newbie: when I press the buttons I feel mechanical feedback in encoders.
Is this how it should be?
I’ve never noticed this on synthesizers or any other midi devices

embrace the autonomous sensory meridian response of it.

its clicky, yes.

do you see or feel them actually bend downward when you press buttons, or just feel feedback? Depending on which buttons you are pressing, they might be on the same PCB board. Now if you see them bend when doing this, that board might be a bit loose.

just feel feedback in the encoder when I simultaneously press the button and turn the encoder as if there is a mechanical connection between the buttons and the encoders.
I won’t say that this is a problem, but there is discomfort…

when I turn the filter encoder and press the buttons, the encoder mechanically vibrates when pressed, and sometimes like ā€œsome mechanically clicksā€ transmitted to the encoder…I don’t know how to describe it otherwise

I don’t think this is a problem for me. I just wanted to make sure that everything is ok with my DT2
