Introducing Digitakt II

Such an awesome release  My favorite groovebox became unbeatable. Cool to see so many positive responses to it

It does do this, but it’s linearly 8 pages of 16 presets from the pool sequentially
you do it blind though as there’s no names to work with unlike doing it direct from the browser in Live Record Mode (as per other boxes)

Wasn’t at least part of you going into a panic with “oh no, I have to make a new tutorial series and learn all this new stuff”?

Has anyone been able to order on the Elektron site?

Wait, did Elektron put all of the LFOs they had saved for the Rytm update into DT II :eyes:?

but it wasn’t - so let’s just park that thought

@_Niko Anything about DT1 projects compatibility with DT2 ?

I’ve had my DT listed for sale since Saturday and had someone pick it up this friday, but he just skipped on me

Finally got to watch some of the videos. Even cooler than I though, and I already thought it was cool. Think I’ll keep my original and get the new one when it’s around more. Can’t have too much Digi-format.

Digitakt was the one out of the trinity that was in most dire need for a platform upgrade to make the jump to stereo. Syntakt could use some software upgrades but not a platform change. Digitone could use more polyphony (unison easily eats up all voices sometimes), some more features and the white display to match the rest which would require a platform update but it is not critical.

You can import DT1 projects on DT2

This won’t stop me from picking up a DT2, but seriously, wtf guys? Who’s the guy in the UX meetings who continues to go to bat for TPE? I would (genuinely) love to hear an explanation of the problem that the consumer electronics industry thinks that this stuff is solving.

Surely one “6” must be missing from that beasty number.

I thought I saw someone said they ordered earlier this morning and expected shipping 26th April

Yeah, I’m actually a bit disappointed about that. Sure, the E25 DT will eventually be a collectors object that I can sell for more. But if I just wanted to make music with it, the DT II is clearly the superior machine for that, and it’s cheaper than the E25 was at release.

I would have preferred if they pushed E25 and gave us the Rytm update as a celebration of their anniversary. Release ST and DN silver editions at the beginning of April. And have everyone speculating why there’s no silver DT - only to now announce DT II, which also comes in a limited silver version.

Yes, I bought E25 because it was worth it’s asked price at the time and that kinda stays true, but it also just doesn’t when the hardware and software is clearly outdated.

Aaand sold out. Wasn’t in the shop when I had dinner, now it’s gone. Heh.

I see, thanks for the clarification! I guess that could still be cool though.
