Given they advertised a Rust developer role a while back, I’m guessing it’s using R U S T
When does it come out? Am i blind?
just saw the links to manuals and download/read.
Bummer. Not a huge deal but I thought it was rev, del, chorus per track too. That would’ve been out of this world.
Regardless. Great machine. Would’ve liked two stereo ins and outs (so I could hook up Syntakt and DT individually instead of serial), but other than that, it’s pretty sweet.
already in stock at Thomann
already available on multiple shops
Retrigs can be customized on any of the sequencer steps on the audio tracks (the retrig function is not available on the MIDI tracks). In GRID RECORDING mode, press [TRIG PARAMETERS] twice to access the RETRIG PARAMETERS page. Hold one or several [TRIG] keys and then set the desired retrig options for the trig(s).
I don’t understand why this is, but huge swing and a miss for me. Ah well, Oxi One does everything the digitakt can do sequencing wise and wayyyyyy wayyy more (for my tastes and case usage).
I should be grateful, the GAS is gone!
8 live looping stereo tracks : Octatrack.
OMG! Please Elektron, give us 128 steps on all machines!! Just do green led for 5-8…
Man I hope that’s possible. That would be a biggest game changer of all
Only been out for an hour and Florian is already rubbing his hands together for the next Bad Gear /s
I honestly thought Elektron would merge OT and DT into one new sampler. Now that there is the DT 2, my hopes for an OT 2 have (slightly) rekindled
I am ready to buy an elektron device as soon as they stop producing them with buttons that will eventually get tacky over time.
I am 100% serious. Do you hear me, John Elektron?
The Syntakt already supports Live Sound Pool recording into a track
But alas, the DT2 doesn’t (YET, please) support this fantastic method that’s existed from A4 onwards … scroll through teh pool and tap the track keys to lock the selected/browsed sound/preset under the encoder’s cursor … or do it via Auto Channel on ext kbd
It’s handy to have a Mode too, but the Mode does not allow you to vary Keytrack … hoping this gets implemented for consistency across devices
I own DT1 and OTmk2 already so I don’t need the DT2 (yet ).
With that said, if Elektron announces all machines will get 128 steps, I will buy DT2 immediately just to keep the system moving
Hear that John Elektron!
I am not sure if any of the older boxes are multi-coloured on page LEDs (R/G) like DT2
Multi Map for all Elektrons !
( even AH ! Trigger envelope settings with midi notes)
I’m scared of the OT as I love immediate devices. But I am creeping closer and closer!!!
MultiMap takes planning, definitely another method, i like the immediacy of browsing and realtime locking Sounds direct from the browser
Works best on machines with compatible engines per track, but it’s supported on other devices like ST AR
Ahh I guess I was thinking it was a new mode that allowed you to set up a soundpool slot per key/trig across all 16. Instead of pick and place. Hmmm.
The way all these videos are rolling out, one could only assume the leak was intentional.
Some extra wows that stuck out for me from the Loopop video:
- Expression mods (was hoping for something like this and so glad we got it)
- Glissando and velocity trig modes look so fun!
- Live page looping and mute preperation
- Midi learn and renaming more params more MIDI LFOs (I’m guessing they’re awaiting MIDI 2 stuff to get more common and will add in a future update)
Unlike my MPC which is very much a composition and recording device, it seems Elektron are going even more towards the live performing instrument world which makes this beautiful and unlike anything else out there. The original Digitakt already feels more free and live than any other thing of its type and these changes just make it even more so. Even though they’ve added more pages and menus which is a bit daunting, all the new live performance bits sound incredible.
I’m so glad people are calling for internal polyphony without a midihub or such as if this was baked in more people would realise how amazing a synth this could be. Especially with the expression stuff and all the tracks. I can imagine people putting together some amazing polyphonic synth presets.
Won’t get one just yet but can imagine it’ll replace my Digitakt 1 pretty soon.
