Ok, I just loaded the “init preset” on my AH+FX and disabled all FX. Input sensitivity set to low, My Syntakt (connected to the AH inputs) volume set to 3/4.
When I use USB CC MODE BYPASS. the levels are have around the same peaks as with straight USB from my Syntakt (Around -12db).
To go to -12db I have to engage the HEAT FX: Clean Boost, with the drive to 90 and level to 127. (or use the Compresser and set the make up gain).
I think this 20db difference is there because they wanted to create enough headroom for the FX and filters. It’s a lot though and maybe too much.
TLDR: If you just want to record something with the AH+FX input without FX applied, you can bypass them with USB CC MODE BYPASS and have -12db peaks, like the other boxes.
nice, for the ones worrying this seems to be the fix for now! I personnally don’t see why analog heat would be in my chain if i’m not gonna use it with at least a clean boost (but saturation is my always on setting generally)
very awesome indeed. so you can throw a delay on a signal, and then after that some extra drive and use a bandpass filter to create a vibe, probably even throw an lfo on that hahaha. i’m sold.
I love the AH filter but I’d consider that a welcome improvement tbh - I don’t think I ever went past 12 o’clock.
Did they isolate the filter with this version so you don’t get engagement/disengagement pops? That would be a nice additional upgrade too, I’d forgotten about that.
Side-point, but in a lot of photos the big knob looks grey, but it’s black in product shots. Is this just a side effect of photography weirdness or are some people getting grey knobs on theirs?
Enjoy! For the purposes of brutality, the new Gate section of the Heat module will be sure to please. It really tames some of those harsher circuits.
As much as I love the AH+FX, my favourite thing is the DOOM-esque startup logo. It takes me back to the 90s with my big bro and the incredible Playstation port of the game.
The first time I played a bit Doom was actually just a few years ago, the reason being that our Singer for Catenation, Lindsay O’Connor, is part of the Doom Eternal soundtrack
I’ve seen shots of peoples that definitely look black, and it seems to be black in the marketing shots, but I thought it looked grey in some of the images I’ve seen.
This thing is definitely the cheat code.
I finally got some tracks I had always struggled with to get the right amount to aggression and retain lots of bass.
