Disclaimer: This is a prototype, but itās been finalized, but you might see some minor differences in the final product. No name or price yet, should be out in Spring.
OK, fun stuff: Made just for Metropolix! It will include an AC adaptor, has a power switch, and adds TRS MIDI (alongside the existing USB MIDI) to the Metropolix! Weāll have a Metropolix Firmware v1.5 update (done, just in testing) that will add support for the TRS MIDI jacks in box and will also output the Gx (expander) gate signals over MIDI as CC values over TRS and USB (since the box does not support the Gx on at the same time). Iāll save the rest of the firmware update info for release.
This is super cool! Metropolix is by far the most fun sequencer iāve ever used, love it so much! @slowwild are there any plans for an updated metropolix expander module that will output trs/usb midi? Or is this going to be exclusive to this case? Curious if thereās any other goodies in that 1.5 firmware as well!
Wow, this looks great! Definitely going to get one of these for the TRS MIDI. I mostly use mine with an Atlantis and MC-202 combo, but itās very fun with Elektron boxes and well, everything really!
Im guessing new midi in stuff in the update will work over the current usb? Iām using tubbutec midi bridge as a host for it currently and itās a lot of fun.
Iām actually selling one with all the expanders in a 4ms 48x atm in the forum ; 0⦠but this enclosure beat that by a year! I loved mine so so much, Iām just having to sale everything, unfortunately. This is such a fantastic design, guys!
If that listing includes the case and PSU, it isnāt evident from what you wrote. But we probably shouldnāt be discussing this outside the Marketplace.
This is so cool. You guys at Intelljel are just fucking amazing. The products, the super-detailed manuals, the supportā¦everything is inspiring and awesome.
I love how this new case really speaks to the use of Metropolix as a MIDI sequencer (as opposed to using it in a modular case with oscillators). For those who have only explored the 'lix in its modular context, itās super powerful for generating fun sequences that you wouldnāt generate otherwise, and then using that to build out a whole song in a DAW.
Metropolix was the seed for this song I recently released; it spat out the syncopated bassline you hear at the beginning, which then inspired everything else: Runaway | seven7hwave
I think Metropolix is my favorite modular device ever. The amount of depth is insane, especially if youāre rocking both outputs to play to voices off each other.
