Just proves that it doesn’t all have to be complicated, sometimes a disco sample, an SP and a filter is all you need.
Not French, but I love the more loungey side of that time period. Nordic Lounge, some of the Italian stuff, etc. I do love French house and tech too, but during this period, I was listening more to this stuff. Trying to go back to mellow after a good stint in Drum and Bass land.
Hope its ok to post something of I did. Was bit obsessed with French house back then and here is a mega mix of french house I did for Bicep on their early blog.

This is gonna be one of those threads were I have to restrain myself to not go overboard
“1999” is of course a stone cold classic, but the remix on the b-side of the 12 inch release is were it’s really at for me:
And let’s add some more nice house that was released in France in the 90ies and early 00nds:
Nice playlist, will have a listen if the mood for full-on french house strikes. Most of the Crydamoure releases would be a bit too much for me nowadays, but still have fond memories of them.
Edit: Let’s add a small counterpoint to one of the tracks again. With Benjamin Diamond’s “In Your Arms” I prefer the more somber album version to Alan Braxe’s more famous remix. Could even imagine still sneaking it in a set if the time is right.
And for good measure, I’m also gonna post my favourite version of “Around the World”:
So weird. This is literally my name, and I’ve never heard of them before
Then you should check out “Poney Part 1” and “La Rock 01” which were quite big, though it certainly isn’t house:
A Garnier track in a similar vein:
French chef kiss.
Now this music hits very close to my heart. Some great stuff shared already, I’ll post some of my favourites which I happen to have on wax too… Tracks like these made me fall in love with house music early on and I still absolutely love them.
This thread is the cured playlist I always wanted
Brings me back to my first DJ set in a club, I didn’t have that many records and definitely wanted to give this one a spin, so I was a bit gutted when the much more established and experienced guy who was on before me played it. I guess through nerves as well as being happy to have heard it in a club in the first place, I mentioned to him during the changeover - “oh, I was going to play 900 Degrees”, and got the immortal reply, “play it again, they love it.”
Seeing as the thread seems to be going wider than strictly French house:
peak 00 french house
The whole album-movie is a peak event indeed.
The abducted aliens from Discovery are known to us, earthlings, as Justice.
Not French House, but very much in tune with the thread’s goals, I think:
I can also whole-heartedly recommend these following mix-CDs, which got a lot of play in my social circle in the 2000s. But they don’t seem to be available to stream anywhere, so you’ll have to look for them on your own

Nice!
Also not '00s French, but (modern, not French, in LA) But Leisan plays a lot of excellent tracks that are also very much in-line I think. Funky, mellow, a bit jazzy sometimes, with occasional Latin flaire, a touch of lounge, and definitely some fun mixes. Highly recommend checking out her sets.
I am not a big fan of French house and dont really try to make that kind of music. But recently i had two ideas that fit the genre so I finished them. currently working on details. I will share them for sure when they are ready!
