that’s my point
I think the closest thing you’ll get to a user wave table is sending audio in from something else into the RingMod as a fourth oscillator.
If you dual commit the MIDI to both the Hydrasynth and the other synth you can get some hybrid stuff going.
Plus you can use the Audio Input in the FM Mutants.
Note to those just tuning in : No external audio input is available on the Explorer.
Okay, let me rephrase: The mutants do so much mangling, that I don’t have the feeling to miss out if I’d never use anything but Saw
Nasty! Think this is the inspiration I need to unpack my HS after its sat in a box for nearly a year after moving house lol (not that I don’t like it, I’m just lazy)
Nice! which mutant(s) did you use to create that hoover?
PWM-Orig, like on the original Wavestack also works for a blurrier but bigger sounding supersaw variant.
A bit drummie stuff (keytrack for different sounds) …
and for kicks, i found that osc sync makes for something that sounds like a wide pitch envelope:
Hydrasynth Instant Industrial!
Wow! Thank you for this. Love all of it, but especially Burst!
Thanks a lot! I compared the Hydra to the Korg Modwave a few days ago, and it was quickly clear that I like the Hydra A LOT more. However, those Wavetables on the Modwave! While quickly browsing through (the Modwave’s) stock Wavetables, I was instantly inspired. The Hydra’s wavetables don’t inspire me at all. Well, except Saw and Pulse
For FM I like to start from sine.
You turned your Hydrasynth into a DFAM!
Yeah I feel exactly the same!
Sold my modwave, hope Hydrasynth will be able to import user wavetables (or single cycle waves)
Heard some of these patches and the hydra really sounds great. You definitely rock some great sound design chops!
Well god damn! I’m impressed. You’ve taken to the hs really quickly. I listened at work and spent the rest of the day thinking about some stuff to try when I got home so thanks for that!
I’m a simple woman. Bssss leads faster to CHRHHRKKWRRKEEEEWKKRRRCH than Boooo
Yes, but you’re not reasonable.
I find sine waves really interesting as a reference to understand what Mutants do, especially for FM. Now with Bit Redux, you can change it to a square. I still hope a way to modulate Bit Redux for a future update…
And I’ll never be!
