Hi All -
Waiting for my OT in the mail, and I was wondering how many sounds/samples come pre-loaded with the OT?
Is there a list of the sounds available?
thx!

I just installed the mk2 factory sounds to my OT the other day. (I got my OT mk2 second hand, and it arrived with a blank CF card.) At any rate, there are about 6 GB of samples (drums, synths, loops, sample chains). A list wouldn’t be practical. Basically, there are a ton of samples, almost too many. You’ll have plenty of stuff to get started.
Wow, 6 Gig’s is a lot!!!
How’s the OT thus far?
Are there any single cycle waveforms?
I don’t think any come on the card, but there are plenty available here in the files section:

Sort by Octatrack and Samples
thank you!
5,59 GB on my new CF shipped with OT black
6 MB Elektron
2 GB Loopmasters
1,11 GB Origin Sound
1,74 GB Sample Magic
745 MB Samples From Mars
There’s also Ess’ cool tools for creating single-cycle waveforms:
I haven’t tried it myself, but I’m sure I will at some point. With something like the OT, single cycles are kind of down the priority list.
With that lovely filter, all the other OT fx, slide trigs, 3 lfos with lfo designer and neighbour tracks, single cycle waveforms should be high on the priority list^^
You have a point there. Duly noted - I think I have a folder of single cycles to try out.
I noticed quite strange thing when revising the OT MK2 factory content - i.e. there’s quite a lot of samples (~100) that are not in 44.1khz (native format), with around half of that being 48khz and half in 96khz.
They’re all under ‘Origin Sound’ or ‘Loopmasters’ folders.
Looks like a weird omission given the OT cannot playback non-44.1khz files without changing it’s speed / length
The origin sound perc and tops folders are very good imo.
The origin sound snares folder is dominated by the exact type of snares I hate, which is light fluffy 808 type snares layered with an organic sound like a finger snap.
