I’m planning on buying more samplers so I can write a better reply.

…apart from three macbook pros, two good old unibodies and one latest silicon super weapon…
all with their own mobile audio interfaces and logic and/or ableton and lately bitwig forever, which all count per definition as samplers, too…

the questions aims, of course more to truu hw sampler instruments…
and i started pretty early with samplers, were kind of my first instruments i got serious with…

many mpc’s…2000, 3000, 1000, 2500…
i had a yamaha 2" 19’ racksampler, that was nice at first, but turned out to be a pretty mess…
i had this korg flexi hexi mini keyboard sampler…and i hated it…
i made heavy use of akais rack samplers…2000 and 5000…
never owned an emu rack sampler…but used their small and big one also quite a lot in other studios…best digital filters in old school samplers out there to find…
also i had quite some early and great studio sessions with the mothership of all samplers, the synclavier…
love to liveloop with tc helcons choir machine vocal fx make up monster voice live2…
had lot’s of fun when dt was brand new…
aaaand, of course, had two ot’s in action forever…

all what’s left in actual use and abuse is one ot and the mpc 1000 with jjos…
but ot companies me pretty much only on stage (while those days are coming to an end and i also start to go with nothing but a stick to the gig, acompanied with a mic) and the mpc1000 is not really in use anymore, but i costumized it back in the days pretty decently (all black in black, thick pads, wooden side panels, moog like knobs for master volume and rec gain) and with jjos inside, it’s just a timeless weapon, i’ll never get rid off…

when it comes to using sampling these days, last and most versatile solution i really love to use is bitwigs sampler…and ot rarely for the pure heck of it…

OP-1 Field
Analog Rytm

Woovebox

Is the RC 505 mk2 considered as sampler as well? =)
And then some eurorack samplers.

Should probably sell many of them, but samplers are awesome

Hey, hey now, that’s—you can’t just be asking people how many samplers they have, it’s embarrassing.

But:
Analog Rytm
Octatrack
Volca Sample 2
Deluge

I have tried so hard to love the Deluge again like I did in the first year I had it, but something happened along the way, and yesterday was all we had. The love is gone, but I feel that I should theoretically keep it cause it’s theoretically awesome.

Wow. What have been your favorites? Least favorites? Any that you let go of that you miss?

I currently own:

  • Dirtywave m8
  • Push 3 Standalone
  • Digitakt

Previously owned:

  • MPC One, mildly regret selling it (keygroups were incredible).

Technically owned but didn’t really use:

  • PO 133 KOII. Arrived broken, played with it for an hour before packing it up. Might pick up another one at some point.

OT sold yesterday, still have the Sp404 mk2 and Toraiz Sp16.

Probably Akai S2000, MPC1000, 500 and Z4, Korg ES1, and the EPS16 Plus.

I still have fond memories of the ASR X line, MPC2000, MPC4000 and S5000, the S760 and the Prophet 2002. Yamaha A3000 and A4000 were pretty cool too…

Very happy at the moment with just an Akai MPC One and a Digitakt.

None.

But have the EP-133 and Smpltrek coming.

Probably 20.

Currently
2x OT
2x Deluge
OP-1
OP-Z
Lofi 12
SU10
Circuit Rhythm
KO33
KO2
Smpltrek x2
Polyend Tracker
Seqtrak
MC-707
Akai Force
SP-808
2x Electribe
3x Volca Sample

Might be forgetting some, had loads more too, but that would be a huge list, will definitely be getting rid of some of these at some point, and will definitely get some others. I love samplers.

Where I have multiples of the same model the reasons are varied, and no I never use them all at once, at least half of them are used on a regular basis, often in rotation.
