How can I get Push 2 and DT to have a 2-way conversation?

I’ve been trying to make my DT talk back to my Push 2.

I’m using Bit Reduction as a fast way to test by hearing and seeing changes.

Change Bit Reduction on Digitakt:
:white_check_mark: Plugin responds
:x: Push 2 nothing

Change Bit Reduction on Push 2:
:white_check_mark: Digitakt responds
:x: Plugin nothing

:x: Push 2 nothing

Surely there is a way for them to all have a conversation?

The way I’ve been fiddling with this is by using two midi tracks, one uses this template:

And the other simply holds the Digitakt plugin from OB2.

I’ve tried INT+EXT on the encoder settings on the DT, no luck.
I’ve tried various ways to link the two midi tracks, for example, sending @Daisuk’s external rack to the DT AU midi track instead of to the actual digitrack, but no juice.

This seems related: on MIDI tracks, why can you only choose All Channels or a single channel, but not select the ones you want? Maybe there’s an answer there.

I’m probably going to be told i’m smoking PCP here, and it can’t be done, but I’ll dream.

Many thanks.
Below is the workflow in its current state. All fingers crosed.

I’ve asked on the Ableton Push Forum as well:

OH. EM. GEE.
For a future struggler, simply press command M, select the parameter you want to hook it up to, and then turn the hardware button/rotary you want it associated with. They all listen to each other and can have a three way.
You’re welcome.
