Feature Requests for all Elektron Machines

I had the exact same thought this morning. Recording page randomization would be so much fun.

On my OG Digitone, the default behavior for song mode is “LOOP”. I don’t know if it’s the same on other Elektron boxes, but this behavior seems strange to me. The idea of a song, in my mind, is that it ends. So, I have to change “LOOP” to “STOP”. No biggie, just wondering if anyone else thinks this is a bit strange.

add more sequencer options like backwards, reverse, random, etc.

Probably requested numerous times and probably explained why they don’t do it but I wish you could solo tracks as well as mute them.

Didn’t the old Tonverk prototype have a solo function? Guess it was too daring and revolutionary for Elektron to implement.

Envelope Modulators + Freely Choosable MODulator Types

Since the TONVERK has Envelope modulators on audio tracks, I would love to see those on DNII, DTII and all the other Elektron machines.

Adding to that, I would love if you could choose between any of the modulator types that are available per Elektron device.

For example, the TONVERK currently has 2 Voice LFOs, 2 FX LFOs and one Envelope per audio track. It’d be great if those were default but were swappable, so that you could have 4 Voice LFOs and 1 Envelope MOD per audio track, just to name one example.

Mod and LFO assignment shortcut

Using the mod wheel, aftertouch, etc. as macros is great, but assigning them is very slow, I wanted to explore a quicker way.

Hmm, that’s actually the best version of that idea yet, methinks. Even better would be press encoder + LFO / MOD.

If anybody from electron is reading this, please take this into consideration and I’m sure I’m not the only one that thinks this, but having to push the function button plus yes, just to audition a sample is super inconvenient and annoying. You have to use three fingers just to scroll through samples. I have to hold my left pinky on the function button and my left thumb on yes and tap up and down arrows with my other hand hand for somebody that has arthritis in their hands like me. it’s such a pain in the ass to do amd is literally painful to do. there should be one dedicated button to audition samples. Or at least make it like it is on the digitone 2 where you actually hit the track button to sample the sound having to hit three buttons is crazy just to hear a sample audition.

What?

On what device?
Also, put it in a feature request thread. That way Elektron will actually read it.
not just some rando post gripe

Fix’t

Nothing new, but it’s 2025 and still missing on most (but not all!) machines:

  • midi retrig
  • arp & midi arp

C’mon Elektron!

Why would you have to preview samples with one hand? That’s something that’s usually done when it is fine to use both hands, no?

Been thinking about “write protect” feature and extending it to encompass patterns instead of only sounds in the plusdrive… and thought of something even better, a new paradigm shift for Elektron boxes in general:

PLUS DRIVE FOR PATTERNS!

This would seriously solve all my issues with Elektrons regarding performance. Since you can “lock” stuff in the plus drive in order to prevent accidental edits, why not include patterns as a viable plus drive content to be saved? Would also make reusing patterns super simple. This would also allow a sort of “template” use in more complex boxes such as TV, since your elaborate routing and fx pattern could be then saved into the plusdrive, ready to recall into any project in seconds…

Next phase of this paradigm change would be “pattn locking”, but before we get there, we need to be able to save patterns into the plusdrive… Once that is in place, I can elaborate how pattern locking could work… (hint: think how sound locking currently works and you’re starting to get the idea…)

I use both hands. I have arthritis. Hand movements for people without arthritis they can do without even thinking about it but for me it’s excruciating sometimes and really anybody else has arthritis in their hands. It sucks stretching your fingers or having to hold a finger on something while using another finger next to it depress a button can become painful very quickly. And I’m only 52 yo. I’m getting both of my knees replaced next month. I’m a fucking cripple :disappointed::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: IT IS A SUCK

I am on my way to be there with you.
Have you tried one left finger for FUNC, one right finger for YES, and another finger of either hand for trigs?

not sure where to post this…

for people who sequence externally and sends PC to older elektron machines, how do you guys deal with patterns with more than 64 steps?

if there’s a feature request id like on older elektron machines it’d be some kind of ‘follow action’ or pattern chaining (per pattern) feature, or something like the pattern chain/variation on the new TR-1000
