seems like it but we’ll see once it’s released. everyone has their algorithm for doing this kind of thing so there’s no guarantee it’ll sound the same or whatever… but Q4 looks like it’s just going to be a monster of functionality.
I bought Twin 2 in November of 2022. Twin 3 was released in February, 2023, and they automatically upgraded my license. Didn’t have to do a thing. Just got an email saying “this is yours now”.
Can’t say this will be the same, but FabFilter are good people.
I wonder what the upgrade price will be. Probably $80 is my guess.
I definitely had to spend money to upgrade my Pro-R license to Pro-R2.
But they also are very good at giving lower prices to repeat customers as well.
I think I had to pay for R2, but it was reasonable.

Totally. I’m not complaining, Pro-Q 3 is still plenty awesome.
I’m certain there will be an upgrade path. FabFilter has the whole “Personal upgrade offer” tool thing that takes into account everything you’ve bought from them and gives you discounts, accordingly.
But there’s nothing there for Pro-Q 4 yet because it’s not on sale. I’m sure it will be on thursday.
Spectral dynamics sounds great, I’ve been testing some plugins like this (Melda etc.) and liked it, but haven’t bought any yet. Pro-Q 3 is my most used 3rd party plugin, so there’s a high probability I’ll upgrade.
That would be nice. I’d be happy with a really low update price too. Either way, ver 3 is great so I’ll survive either way 
assuming what I see at the end of the video the internal sidechain selector plus the spectral dynamics, this would be insta buy, otherwise don’t see myself use the instancing/sketch/character/allpass (which I already have in Volcano).

not sure about grace period but you will probably get a discount in your user area, I remember when Pro R2 was released it was instantly discounted for me as FX Bundle owner but I think there are discounts for any plugin owners, you could try contacting them asking if you’d be eligible…

Yes, they are good people! I had purchased their complete bundle in the beginning of April at full price, later that month they announced a 30% discount for their 20 year anniversary. I emailed them and asked if I could have that discount honored and they did refund me the amount, no issues.

the attack/release on dynamic eq probably just made MB completely obsolete for me, and the spectral dynamics could possibly make DS obsolete… but apart from that not that many new features
