Erica Synths Techno System

I bought one over a year ago and I do love it a lot. I have a second modular now which is just more drum voices and effects for the techno system and I find it helps to have some more modules for it. It is also very expensive and then most expensive piece of gear I have bought.

I bought it, tried it, realized I do not have time/energy for a modular system, and traded it away for a Peak and a Nina.

All in all I’m happy with the entire experience, as I learned more about my tastes and preferences when it comes to hardware.

Techno forever :metal::robot::metal:

Thanks for the conclusion. I’d been waiting forever to hear how the story ends.

Just like a great techno live set…no real ending, just an interesting transition.

Was it your first modular? Was it the patching that ultimately made it feel like a time, and energy consumer.

I have a bunch of semi modular stuff, but this was my first dive into a fully modular system. I have a 3 year old and now a newborn, and I quickly realized that the patching time required is actually the amount of time I have to jam on any given day.

I learned that modular is not for me, at least at this stage of life. I got a RD-9 to fulfill my 909 slot, and pair it up with the TD-3 when I want to scratch that itch (with Digitakt covering samples). Not the same, but easier and more fun for me in the here and now.

Hi

What would u guys think the average price is for a s/h unit in the UK?

Thanks

I reckon anything between Ā£2600 to Ā£3200 seems to be the average. I’ve not seen one go below Ā£2500.

And that’s based on about 10 coming up for sale over the last few years, so not the greatest pool to take an average from.

Oh OK there’s one on ebay but they want Ā£2800 I thought that was a bit steep

Thanks

I’ve seen them go for less, but Ā£2800 is ok if it’s in really good nick and got the sample drum module.

Having said that though, it’s cash converters selling it, so I’d be a bit hesitant, purely because you’re not gonna know its history.

Yeah that’s what I thought I was willing to pay around 2k mark for it

But they can dream on at £2800 with no history

Cash Converters will consider a low ball FWIW. They have no skin in the game so to speak.

I’ve won silly offers from them before.

I’ve tried they came back with Ā£2800

But I do agree they normally will accept a low but I’ve messaged them several times since before crimbo and they haven’t replied Fxxk em

I think you’d need to know a little bit more for that, I don’t like that missing pot either.

Knock em down if they’ve still got it in a few weeks. If someone wants to pay that then good luck to em.

That’s what I was thinking :+1:

Out of interest what would u pay for it?

Thanks

I would need a REALLY good price to give Cash Converters that sort of money. They don’t know anything about it, do they. But on the other hand, who buys a Techno System and doesn’t look after it?!?! There’s also a good chance it’s a steal.

I’m just a Perkons user who occasionally ogles at stuff like this, but I would be tempted at Ā£2.5k. It’s Cash Converters for christ sake and I’m sure they want it gone! But still, for that sort of money I’d drive over there and spend some time with it. I still don’t like that missing pot, regardless of price.

It’s 4700€ @ Thomann; 2800 Pounds 3360€ (which would be ok for me).
Probably not realistic to spot the entire system at 3k (€).

Otherwise: I would NOT buy pre-configured systems again (did so with my Black System III).
Going for a slow build up over time is less painful than buying everything at once.

Its on my Christmas List every year.
Santa never brings it though.
