I appreciate Erica’s honesty and straightforward instructions. I also think this is the sort of thing most manufacturers would simply advise to return for a fix, as the truth behind the fix is quite unfortunate.

I like their approach, I think it shows some degree of respect for their customers’ intelligence. File it down and if it still doesn’t work, the warranty is still good, return it. I’m surprised that the pins aren’t making contact though, I would have thought there was at least 1 cm of contact already and don’t see how that much of an xs of board would affect that.

I appreciate Erica as well—they are incredibly responsive and helpful. I didn’t take their advice and ended up figuring out the fix with some help on here and Facebook. Heres hoping it’s all smooth sailing for the Perkons moving forward—it’s such an awesome and fun machine!

HD would be a monstertool if, on the channel, when it is busy at noon, i could twiik, with the HD controllers , pitch, env, filter(…) Namely controlling a source, by the midi port/A sound of expander, for example… Kind be GORGEOUS, Also, on the tr sequencer, to apply the modification sets: HD editing signals, could alter, the source assigned to the channel in real-time playing!

Any idea if kit / pattern change via MIDI Program change is coming?

They do look great in black - guess they are not for the general market

Also noticed from the manual the MIDI CC control for BBD and Comp is not poss at the mo which is a little odd since they did all 4 voice parameters

I’m sending pattern changes from Ableton Live and it works seamlessly, I don’t have the manual handy right now but using that DAW in particular you just send a regular program change message and that’s all you need.

Thats very interesting as I just got a reply from Erica support and I assumed it didnt (unless typo or language barrier)

Hello.
There aren’t any plans to implement this, as MIDI control was envisioned for full parameter/voice control as well as sequencing instead of using CC messages to control the internal sequencer.
I don’t believe it is at all possible to implement CC control over the BBD and compressor - the knob positioning for the BBD and compressor/output sections is analog (not digitally registered like the voice parameters). I hope despite this you still find your PĒRKONS useful and have fun with it!
Best regards,
Oto

At least with Ableton Live I’ve been able to do it quite easily, really! But I’ve only tried pattern changes, nothing more so far. So I wouldn’t know…

I saw a video where a guy says that it’s possible to save kits to patterns. Meaning if you change the pattern you can automatically change the to the kit associated with that pattern as well.

Is this possible? I thought it was not so just want to find out if I’ve been mistaken about this

Select a pattern, then select the kit, then save the pattern. Whenever you recall that pattern, it will load that kit.

Ah really  that’s awesome. I had not gotten that

You need to activate the kit link in the config settings, if it’s not on then the patterns / kits are independent.

Thanks  will be fun to try to experiment with different workflows

It’s just such a fun thing to play. Just plumbed it into my octatrack, and my goodness that is an amazing pairing.

You’re absolutely right, I forgot to mention that. I think it’s one of the first things I did as soon as I got mine and totally forgot about it

Performed a quick search but couldn’t find much detail on how the Perkons responds to midi velocity from an external source…
Does it respond to the 127 or just a high/low for accent/normal?
I mean it can be played by pads so one can only conclude it is dynamic surely?
Cheers anyone

Hi yeah, responds to the 127 range, great.

Pērkons users: do you use a balanced or unbalanced audio cable for the line-level master output?
