Great - yes please email support. I’m happy to report that I finally got Erica Synths to acknowledge that this seems to be a bug of some sort. Support initially said it was simply part of how its supposed to be programmed. yikes. They’ve passed my inquiry onto the developers of the machine. If you open a support ticket, you can reference that a support person named Emils passed my ticket to the developers regarding this issue.
The more people that email about this, the quicker it gets resolved!!
Update:
Erica asked me to recreate in an alternative setup which I did (Perkons synced to Roland TR8S via analog clock), reporting back with a video. Two days later I received an update file to try and by doing so the bug is now eliminated.
Very good service, Thanks Erica!
I wish there was a synth store I could go to nearby and try them out, for some reason the YouTube videos are not helping as everyone’s style is so varied. The problem with living in the middle of nowhere lol.
When using shift to change all 4 voices at once, like holding shift and changing tune, is there a way for it to stay like that? Letting go of shift reverts things back to how it was before.
Doing this while in record mode will change everything but then it records the motion as well. Just wondering if I’m missing something. Thanks!
i tried loading the new kits onto my sd card and now my perkons wont even boot up with the sd card installed. nothing ive tried worked. i saved all the system files and stuff off the card before i loaded the new kits , just in case . and even with the stock card data it will no longer boot with the sd!? what the actual fuck. does anyone have the stock files handy? maybe mine got corrupted?! fucked if i know, but im pretty sure i just lost all my kits and patterns…

I think, I red somewhere, that, if you insert a new empty SD card, then Perkons will write the factory folders to the card with the first boot up process. So did you test another empty SD Card ?
And (maybe dumb question) did you put the SD Card in the right way ? I ask, because on my device it is physically possible, to put the card in the wrong way, which should not be possible with SD Cards because of the cutten edge. You just see it, because the card is looking out some mm more, than if you put in the right way. So maybe if Perkons cannot read or wright from/to SD, it is not able to boot up properly. You could simply test that with booting without any card.
yea ive tried 4 different sd cards, 4 different card adapters one was right out of the package and no luck. ericasynths sent me a firware force file and again… bupkis. i think mines busted… bwomp…ill have to see what they say tomorrow… time zones are a bitch lol
Cool! It made me hanker harder and then I caved. I’ve been able to get a few evening in recently and the sound design possibilities in the LXR are phenomenal. My mind is blown everyfreakintime maaaan!
I find it a bit strange how few tracks using the Perkons are shared on Elektronauts (eg in ‘current sounds’). I would really like to hear it more often.
I just had one delivered today and had the same issue out of the box. Almost packed it up and sent it back but got it working eventually.
Formatted the SD card in my PC and it seems to be happy now. It looks like it needs the card to be formatted as FAT-32. Might be something to check. I know that’s the default filesystem type if you format on Windows, but if you’re using a Mac it might be using a different filesystem type maybe?
Copy the BANK folder from your SD card first, then you can copy it back to the card once it’s sorted and hopefully not lose your kits and patterns. It does sound like it’s a software glitch rather than a physical default, so fingers crossed.
Mine didn’t have any factory kits or patterns. I don’t mind that too much, since I prefer starting from scratch. But it’s not super impressive to have these issues on something that costs almost £2000, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt for now, it being such a small company squaring up against giants like Roland and Korg.
Other than that, first impressions are that it’s absolutely gorgeous. The duck-egg paint and blackened wood side-panels look really nice, and I can tell after 30 minutes the hands-on sequencer and sound control are going to be a joy to use.
The kick has got some welly to it. Proper noggin wobbler! Looking forward to having a longer session to get to know it properly.
ive tried all of that and no joy, it just refuses to boot with any sd card at all in it. even just the adapter… im pretty much going to kick it into the trash lol fuckin thing!
