They are similar and share a few sounds but they are not duplicates. I really like that because I like the kicks I get out of V2 a bit more than on V1 but I do love a lot of the sounds I get out of the v1/v2. I think it’s very personal. To me having a duplicate of v3 would make it less useful as a whole. I’m not a big fan of snares though hehe. So to me it’s more a karplus and Tom-ish voice.
I like the alg2 snare. I’m making electro and it has a nice ‘crack’ to it that works real well.

Anyone know if there is a firmware update coming soon? I imagine SOMEONE here must be a beta tester.
I’m kind of disappointed that the FX Send is cut when you use the direct voice outputs. I need these for multi-tracking, but was really hoping that I could use the send and return on the main out. This is probably architectural and not something that a firmware update could change. 
Yeah… that delay does sound good. It can be mimicked easily enough, right?
If you’re multitracking to DAW then it’s probably best to record everything dry anyways. I remember watching a YouTube vid of Junkie XL and he said something like “Even though the effects on x synth sound awesome, I record everything into the DAW dry so I have more control at the mixdown stage.
You can. Just plug the jacks in until the first click. So not the entire way in. That way you split the signal. You get a dry out per voice but you retain the ability to send it to the bbd.

I would love a button combo to internally set all the switches and knobs to what they are on the panel. It is annoying to start a new kit and have to tweak everything before jamming just to make sure that it all lines up. Not a big deal but it has lead to some confusion with levels and stuff.
MOD + SYNC maybe? or maybe like hold SYNC and then press RESET?

If you hold clear and press kit that sets all the voices to the physical positions of the switches / knobs - is that what you are after?

Could anyone give me the exact measurements of Perkons, please? I only need to know the height of the front and the back of the chassis in order to get the right angle. Thank you very much in advance!
This machine is awesome for lots of reasons, but I’m feeling quite sad on the reset functionality. Firstly in standalone mode, hitting reset on the one in time when it’s on step 16 seems impossible. It always seems to add 1/16 note to the rhythm when I hit anywhere close to beat 1. For instance you could have the kicks anchor the entire beat, use the shift features to reorg the remaining channels and then when you’re ready to resync everything, it is literally impossible to hit reset to the 1 of the beat. It will literally always add a 1/16 note. So frustrating. it’s very easy to hit reset after step 8 to reset to the 1 - but 100% impossible at step 16… Is this a bug?
Secondly, if I have the unit in MIDI clock mode, there is no way to reset to anything but 1/16 notes. Would be amazing to have the ability to sync to next 1/16, 1/4, 1/2, 1/1. It’s so vital to be able to program tons of chaos and come out of it back on the 1 of the measure. Anybody have a work around?
Additionally, the aforementioned issue with adding a 1/16 note happens while in MIDI clock mode as well.
The first issue with reset on internal clock is just baffling - it’s gotta be a bug.

Not sure if this is related to your add 1/16 finding above but here is something I am experiencing. I submitted this to Erica with a video to show it, but according to their reply they cannot reproduce it. I am on the latest firmware (1.0).
- Perkons is slave to analog clock coming from an ERM Multiclock. Changing patterns: on the first pattern change after Start the Perkons loses a 1/16th note and falls behind / out of rhythm. Tempo is ok, but the pattern is basically shifted.
Example: select pattern 1 and start. Behaviour as expected. Then switch to pattern 2. Pattern 2 plays 1/16th note late. Switch back to pattern 1. Now Pattern 1 plays still 1/16th note late. Further pattern changes don’t have a further effect.
Since again, Erica isn’t able to reproduce, any chance any of you may be able to try it and share how it goes? Thank you!
I’ve only used the Perkons with external clock so I can’t comment on the first behaviour.
But I think the reset function could be a little more subtle or smoother. It syncs up but does ad a note or hit when doing so.
I’ve like to see a sync up to next 1/4 note or like when changing patterns on a elektron machine, you put down the command and it’s syncing up when pattern is restarting.
Does this make sense?

There is something off. It’s gotta be a bug. Try this experiment.
- Select last and hit step 8 for all channels. Now the beat is two beats long.
- Try to hit reset in time to reset to step 1 while the beat is playing back. No problem. You can keep the beat in rhythm, cycling every two beats.
- Now return the last function to step 16 for all channels and try to hit reset at step 16 to cycle back to step 1.
- You can’t. It will always add one extra 1/16 note. That just shouldn’t happen. If you do something crazy to one channel and want to reset right on the 1 to sync with the remainder of the beat playing, you should be able to. Either the sequencer adds one 1/16 note or you’re super early and it resets back after step 15. This has to be bug.
Waited for months to get a Perkons and today my Sweetwater rep messaged me if I wanted one and OMG, had to pay $4,500 for a car repair for my wife’s Jeep Trackhawk…so sad.

Issue with voice 2. Volume all the way down and can still hear the voice. Wonder if perhaps I have some LFO or something triggering. Hard to hear it in the video unless you turn it up. Entered a ticket with Erika

Hi, tried it on my machine and it does the same. It either resets as normal on step 15 or a creates a double hit on step 1 if hitting resetting on step 16. Will send a mail to support.
