Yeah the size of it can be a bit awkward but the T1000 and MPC XL are worse lol.
My Syntrx rack ears arrive next week so I can finally put the Perkons into the side part rack of my desk and give me space again!!

I wound up getting an analog case large XTS stand for it on my desk. Honestly, I need a bigger desk at this point, but it’s doable for now. I do like having Perkons immediately accessible. Take a pic once you get your gear racked!
Will do!!! Sure I spend more time rearranging then playing ![]()
Yeah I was eyeing up a 2 tier XTS stand also to put centre of my desk for sequencer plus one other device of choice. Can’t find the height dimensions
i have mine on a hercules guitar stand on my desk and its solid
Right on bud smooth.
What stands are you using? Looking for some sturdy ones that don’t slide around the table. Has been more of a challenge then I expected.
Cool, how do you like the polypulse?
@BassesAndPads - you can check the K&M 17580 Heli 2 Acoustic guitar stand with rubber feet. It fits perfectly the Perkons and Syntrx and you can adjust the angle a bit.

Second this! It works really nicely if you want an upright stand ![]()
I’m thinking I will need a tiered stand. I had some DJ tiered stands but they slide all over the table. I have plenty of time to map out a new studio setup since I’m relocating mine, but I have just been thinking about alternative options to a Jasper’s style stand. Especially since those are more for keyboards and you end up spending a lot of money for extra arms if you have smaller drum machines and desktop synths/samplers instead.
Ergonomically I think mapping out a 2 tiered setup will make the most sense. But it’s good to know about those guitar stands because sturdyness is a priority for me when performing on something. I have some laptop stands that are nice but since they are adjustable, they shake a bit when you touch the machines. Since I have time, I am just doing more research and seeing what you all like using.
Also, super curious if Erica is actually going to update the firmware on this and what they will do, since they said they had big plans for it months ago. I am on the newest one, and it works well. I also added all the sound sets, but I kept the OG samples. I see more value in the OG samples than the newer ones that are chords.
Have to think they will add more variety to some of the sound algos, I am interested in what direction they want to go with it.
I will need to check and get back with you. The Perkons is on the 2nd tier of a 3 tier stand. It works well and puts it at a similar angle to the PolyPulse. The Perkons is pretty big and I haven’t seen a lot of desktop synth stands that work well for it. I will test out the stand the PolyPulse is on with the Perkons too as I think it is a more common stand.
It’s pretty darn awesome but also it is pretty darn big. I always feel bad when I only use stereo outs on a piece of gear and there is a lot more IO available.
The PolyPulse sequencing is cool once you grok it and it sounds great.
This is dope! Love the standing program/perform rig you got
Yeah that’s a cool rig you have. I don’t know much about the polypulse but it’s an interesting piece of gear for sure.
Can the Perkons output notes through midi out?
It says only trigger and clock through the midi out port. But what does trigger mean in terms of midi out?
I don’t think it does but don’t quote me on that
I’m 90% sure it does. I did some feature validation testing for the midi expander thing I’m making.
The thing is… You don’t have a way to control said note. So it will likely just spit out c3 (IIRC)
If you used an external controller to enter notes into the sequence, I would wager it would spit those out as you entered, but that would be a rather convoluted way to use Perkons as a sequencer.
The tune functions on the Perkons are just a midi cc, not note changes, despite being quantized.
Great informative reply. Thanks a lot!
i would love to know what sounds come out of this rig
