Elektronauts Hip Hop Battle #26 - Fab Four - Voting & Feedback

Haha I’m gonna have to think about the horn samples, but now the vocal is removed I can hear some strawberry fields in there which I didn’t notice before

Yessir! 3 to go

There’s a sample that runs throughout the whole thing that works as the bass (sort of) in the first section and bass and percussion in the second half when I open up the low pass on it. If you can work that one out mad respect as it’s stretched/pitched/stemmed to death!

Yeah I can hear strawberry fields on the switch up at the end with Love You To Sitar samples

Oh man, you’re close lol! Yeah strawberry fields flute is used for both sections. Love You To is the bass/perc. The sitar/reverse guitar (I think?!) is from another tune :face_with_monocle: Sorry, I’m enjoying this geekery…

It’s from „i‘m only sleeping“

Couldn’t figure that out. The sample sounds amazing

Wow 5 medallions! Congrats @everyone because this was an awesome collective challenge to be a part of :beers: This time around, got to learn about the Beatles being low-down, “dirty” raw hip-hoppers when they were having fun on their unreleased live jams, and that was a neat lesson to take in. I’ve only ever known them for their popular tracks from shows/movies and for the Yoko controversies out here on the news when she released an album back in 2001 :baby: Thanks for the kind words on my beat, and as always this was a lot of fun to be a part of, and looking forward for the next challenge/ :fire: tape with @malus_mons steering the ship!

My track is number 3 and here are the samples used:
Acapella - Freestyle from Bad Boy Mixtape Vol. 3
Drums - Shawn Lee’s Ping Pong Orchestra’s Tired
Bass - @Doug’s 3 bass samples from his pack
Main Sample - The Beatles’ I Me Mine
The Birds - IDK, truly sorry @yabba :man_shrugging:

More on the birds

Made a large chop file Beatles Chops and for the life of me, can’t remember which song it was from. If you and the other members who are better versed with their catalog are up for a dig, the birds are @ around 1:05, and hopefully it’s easier to deduce where it was from :crossed_fingers: went to the extent of checking my editing programs history, but it wasn’t recent enough (it only shows 9 entries). It also didn’t show up in my browser history, but it was either off of: Get Back Johns 1st version, Super Deluxe Box Set from 2018 (one of the earlier albums in that series), Anthology 3, or one of their Unreleased recordings that were found on various sites. I really don’t know them man  Listening to it sort of feels like it’s from one of their live recording sessions, not sure which session though it sort of resembles an antique field recording quality

Cheers @aarb420
Back to full on nerd mode… I can hear the nature sounds are actually the end to Good Morning off sgt pepper and it’s them isolated.
And the dark almost mobb deep sound that occurs is Lennons home demo when he’s searching around for the chords of Across the universe on piano

Haha :beers: @Yabba I tried to backtrack earlier and go through all of the albums that are in my collection, and it might not even be in those albums I wrote out lmao. Sometimes, I surprise myself with my own process :nyan:

It is most definitely from a Beatles song, though, that part is certain! Will continue the search on this end and update if it pops up again :male_detective:

I used to have all the bootleg sessions on cd back in the 90s so I recognise the piano sound from that demo now you’ve uploaded the Wav, I thought it was a guitar when I heard your beat but I never would’ve recognised and brought it to mind if you hadn’t posted that

Cheers man :slightly_smiling_face:

@Yabba that’s awesome man, it sounds like you got to watch most of their career take place, which must have been a cool feeling with them being home team! Those albums are available online in some spots if you’d like to be reacquainted with digital copies. Also who would’ve thought a quick google search would have done it  You were on the money though with Across the Universe! The file says 2009 digital remaster, but varying versions online threw me off earlier. :man_shrugging: Apparently, this was done with the World Wildlife Fund. Your beat is seriously huge man really awesome sample choice and the mix came out very crispy! :muscle:

Hey! @Yabba you was right about the samples I have used, Strawberry Fields and In my life. The main piano loop is a chop of the Let it be intro
Fantastic battle, props to the winners!

Thanks a lot. I’m working on another project now, digital dub on the model cycles, so i haven’t use my DT very often in recent months, it was a good occasion to be back on a boombap track!
I think I will not have time to take part on the next one, but I will listen the results as usual. Have fun guys!
