I want to hear that (and sample it!).
This was made on a Voltage Lab 2 with effects added in Bitwig
fourth test
OK - last calls for contributions. A final scrape of the thread will be carried out around 10pm tonight (UK time) before we get on to making it all go live. There is a lot of droning. close to 15hrs of it. Well done all!
Damn. Iād got one I was hoping to sneak in but it wonāt be ready until Saturday. Ah well.
Scratch that. Had some unexpected time tonight. Hydra + Blofeld.

Looking forward to hearing the stream through. Thereās been some really interesting stuff posted - I bet I havenāt even listened to half of it.
This track consist of 8 different tape loop materials sampled into DT2 and bathed in reverb merging and dwelling till they drone
Iāll keep droning: this challenge has been great! Iāve learned a lot, and i have enjoyed all your drones inmensely. I donāt have the time to submit another one, but itās been great fun ![]()
As usual Iām late to the party. But here is my contribution.
This is mainly the Waldorf Iridium in Split Mode running through the Empress Reverb. On the first layer I used Kernel mode for all oscillators with different modulation types (AM, True FM, Phase FM, Ring). The second layer uses white noise and two oscillators running in particle mode with samples from Lyra and Elmyra. Lots of modulations with very slow LFOs and all voices use different looped envelopes for the volume. On top the birds were added in the DAW with Absynth and one track with some additional noise comes in around half way from the Digitakt.
Looking forward to get lost in drones this weekend and curious to hear all the other recent additions to this thread!
Serge VCS + doepfer SEM crossmodulated
Since I do not have time to make something new, I digged up an old track. Nothing impressive, but maybe can intereset. I donāt even remember the gear used!
drones from this thread in a jardin mix.
phone speaker mix is a treat if you like birdsong, rummaging and sniffling.
big speaker mix is a treat if you prefer sub bass.
OK, with apols for any late night late entries, the need to get some sleep means Iāve got to run the final scrape now, then compile the 101 tracks and 15+ hrs of drone into a YouTube suitable upload, complete with half assed vaguely etherial floaty graphic loop. With the hope it all processes sufficiently fast to be ready for premiering early on Drone Day.
At the same time, Iām going to fire everything across to the brilliant @nullband to hopefully find a way to stream it on Elektronauts favourite streaming platform.
Iāve also got it all set up ready for someone to upload it to Bandcamp if they fancy being responsible for its charitable release in the event anyone wants to pay to download 15hrs of assorted drones. Let me know if anyone wants to take ownership of 20Gb of drone wavs (anyone?)
And finally, all of this will be (with luck) added to the Drone Day listing at https://droneday.org
Thanks all for a fantastic response to this Mission. Time to start planning for Drone Day 2027. Or indeed continue to use this thread to share drones over the remainder of the year, if you get the feeling/vibe/drone thingā¦
i recorded another one but just see now this one is too late
thank you @MattLxx , hope you can manage <3 so many drones!!! ![]()
Finally got my submission ready. Iām slowly working my way through the submissions in here, but as expected, Elektronauts are turning in the most creative and wonderful tracks ![]()
I sketched out what I wanted to do for this, but I ended up playing it completely differently by the time I hit record.
Analog Keys and Syntakt. Nothing else and no post-processing other than MP3 compression.
Let me know if I should be ādisqualifiedā for that small part in the background (the first thing you hear in the track). The argument can be that itās an element of rhythm. I personally donāt hear it that way as soon as everything else shows up.
In either case, Iām considering trying to record something quite different from this on May 30. Very tough to make time due to work and family, but I love drone music and contributing here is fun and exciting. My stuff canāt hold a candle to what some people here are doing, but I like it anyway.
OK - so 16hrs is TOO LONG FOR YOUTUBE.
Going to have to upload a Part I and Part 2ā¦
beautiful! what did you use?
My contribution for Drone Day 2026. Thereās a chord hidden in there somewhere, so itās a drone with a slight melodic element ![]()
