nullband

Melbourne-based sound artist and developer. Been making electronic and experimental music for years across a pretty wide range of tools — Ableton Live, Max/MSP, SuperCollider, VCV Rack, Dirtywave M8, iPad rigs running AUM. Heavily into generative systems, ambient texture, granular processing, and using silence as a compositional tool.

On the hardware side I run a Blüthner upright from the early 1900s tuned 350 cents low, which gets routed through everything. Also deep into KiwiSDR and RTL-SDR — capturing shortwave signals and feeding them into compositions as live source material.
Built nullband as a side project — anonymous internet radio with a ghost system and HRTF spatial mixer. That’s what brought me here.

Influences span Alva Noto, William Basinski, Burial, Arvo Pärt, Autechre, The Caretaker. Equally interested in the conceptual and installation side of sound art as the music itself.
