I’ll ask them about that possibility tomorrow ![]()
Does this mean the digi/syn boxes will have 10 total assignable outputs or will the built in outs still carry the main mix?
Please do! I was hoping the outbox did this too, but an inbox for the Tonverk particularly would be wonderful. Maybe for the digital portion of the AHFX too to act as an fx loop
From the Superbooth thread…
From what I understood the analog I/O remain untouched.
Fair enough. A dedicated Mixer was an Idea that was around for a while as well. I even made a Video about such a thing years ago - with some Design ideas i rendered out for that. But again - more machines, more space … more stuff to focus on. I have no Problem with more Menu Diving - for as long as it’s done right. And there are ways to integrate that nicely. The Digi’s already have the Built in Mixer Pages - the Tonverk could easily get them as well.
And that brings me back to my original Reply. Regardless of how it would be possible on the technical Side of things - an In/Out-Box would’ve been a much better thing than an Out-Box only. Imho. Its about the Options in the end.
There was brief mention in that video above about the Outbox8 maybe working with non Elektron gear? Would be cool to pair it with a Waldorf Protein.
EDIT: oh wait, I thought the Protein had USB audio, nevermind.
I’m looking at this thinking that eight outputs for the Maschine+ and Push 3 Standalone would be great!
I finally understand how insane an elektron style mixer could be. That would be something wild
I mean, OT already exists, but only has 4 inputs and fewer fx than TV.
The Outbox 8 is a very welcome addition. I’ll be getting at least one for sure. The Digitakt 2 immediately becomes a resampling-through-external-effects powerhouse.
If this lets me use ST to sequence eurorack, I’m adding this and breaking my no new hardware rule for 2026.
Otherwise, its still a great fucking idea and I’m happy they’re making it.
nice one !
I’m a bit baffled by the “inbox 8” calls? If you’re breaking out your device into 8 separate audio channels that implies the presence of a mixer or interface to put them into so aren’t you going to have your TV inputs or whatever on a send from that.
It is hurting my head why this isn’t called the OctaOut.
Probably because that name would imply that it would somehow work with the OT. Additionally, it would mess up the naming scheme, if they ever intend to use another one with more or fewer outputs.
Same here Powehub more interesting
Outbox with 8 in and 8 outs is more interesting imo
I think people like the idea of TV being an OB host - route your DT to Bus 3, DN to Bus 4, etc. I think.
I can allready see my minimal dub techno setup materialising: Digitakt II + Outbox 8 + Zed60-14FX + delay and reverb (still can’t decide which) = fun.
Ok i get the Outputs, nothing to misunderstand in my eyes.
But what about the CV? Means that we can assign what CV is send to which channel on the Outbox? Pitch as CV, Gatelenght as CV…
What about Clock, Reset and so on?
This i find really interesting!
