There’s no midi functionality in this, so that was not what he meant by class compliance. It’s basically just an 8 chan output audio interface, only audio or CV.
Pretty sure you’re breaking your no-new-gear rule.
Elektron just said as much on their post about the box.
There is MIDI to CV functionality, so class compliant MIDI is relevant.
I thought that was handled in the machines… my bad then ![]()
Soooooo happy about this and immediately buying two on release. Thnx Elektron!! ![]()
CV sequencing from Syntakt would definitely push me over!
Otherwise, for everything else it’s been the usual drool and consider, then repeat (Plexiphon, Big Time are high on that list).
Incoming push.
Yeah, I’m breaking the pledge for this. I love sequencers and having one that I’m familiar with in the ST size with mix and match audio and CV is going to be a killer way for minimal/tighter integration with eurorack.
This is gonna be insanely fun. ![]()
Let’s hope it’s not $350 U.S
Maybe i missed this, but is it possible to connect a device and have the audio routed to your computer digitally? Bypassing overbridge.
I know it defeats the purpose a bit but would be cool mike the less if you are working with multiple elektron boxes but would like focus ok one at a time. You could simply hook them up and record
Oh yes please, having my 0coast and other cv synths hooked up to my digitakt 2 permanently is exciting ![]()
I also love idea of having sub groups for my dn2 and/or dt2. 250-300 euro is reasonable price. Just didn’t hear or saw can you have 1 per digi box, so i can buy 2?
All modern Elektrons are class compliant usb audio interfaces already, so you can do that right now without using Overbridge.
just stereo tho right?
Yeah I presume just stereo in that case. Why do you want to bypass overbridge?
They will send the channels separately over usb without overbridge. Afaik. Never tried though. I go through an interface as it seems to eliminate latency problems. Personally I do it to make use of Ableton effects and to record multitrack while still doing everything on the device rather than the computer. Overbridge wants you to sequence on the DAW.
I don’t personally need the audio routing, but I might in the future and the CV is appealing now I have some modular.
Great ideas from Elektron, can see these being really useful for a lot of people.
I have seen the video, I am very clear now on what this is.
it is a very clever idea, well done Elektron, they have re-engineerred the technology that was already there by putting out a brilliant idea.
this is very good for users that have analog mixers with a decent number of channels and several FX and pedals -
I always preferred the AR to DT because of the assignable individual outputs, now this is no longer a limitation with the DT.
