Electra one - programmable midi (CC, SysEx, NRPN) controller

yes, all Minis come with the wooden rear panel and an integrated (yet detachable) angled stand.

yes, you can map the “reset to defaults” function to the hardware buttons or trigger it by sending a MIDI message to the controller.

Received my unit and love it!
Wonder why it doesn’t get more love/attention here?

I’m guessing price and scarcity. They’re not cheap and I’ve basically never seen them in stock when I’ve browsed their website.

For those in the US, none of the major synth stores (Sweetwater, Perfect Circuit, Detroit Modular, etc) carry them so anyone interested in one would have to order direct. And now that there are Trump tarrifs, the additional cost and effort for importing starts to become cost and time inefficient…

I have a mk2 and love it. Honestly it’s a niche product due to the price point and demand. Martin is the man and I wish I had money I would have gotten a mini… I think it would pair well with the oxi one mk2… even better than the e16. I am very glad you like it… if you want to see it around make sure you post about it(unlike myself). It gets people talking about it(like now), and more than likely makes Martin a sale or two from it;)

I paid 400€ including express shipping.
Germany though…
Was like 370€ plus shipping.
Not sure how us shipping is…

Much cheaper and capable than the oxi e16.

I would have ordered a full size one, but they don’t seem to be available until mid 2026 and then Neuzeit Drop came along. If that doesn’t work for me, I’ll reconsider the Electra One.

It’s great that Loopop has done a review, as he has a dedicated audience who will buy stuff based on his videos, but not so great that said viewers then go and try to buy one from the website only to find out that neither models are currently available for sale! :frowning:

Bro tell me about it. I thought they were back in stock when the video released. Nope not in stock

I have reinstated the pre-orders. I was not aware that the video was about to be published  regarding the availability, I know it is far from optimal - but - the E1 project is basically a side project that I do next to my other work activities…

A Loopop review was long awaited. It was known that he liked the Elektra One from the beggining. While one can argue about the timing, the scarcity, etc… it is in fact refreshing to see in 2026 that a prominent reviewer can still review a product detached from a product marketing campaign, just because they want to do so. And it is almost just as refreshing to see in 2026 that some product can still be truly “cult” because people want it but even with money in their pockets they have to wait until there is a chance to get it.

Not sure how bad it is in real life, but it seems Loopop didn’t include the slight lag of the touchscreen among the cons for the MKII - although he mentions it at one point. I would see this as an issue for real time performance.

Another random thought nobody asked for: Compared to the E-16 or Timepod, the interface seems a bit less hands-on. Like it seems more tedious to, say, group controls on the fly. This is probably the price to pay for the wide extent of cutomization this thing allows.

Also sad that it includes no motion capture - but maybe this will be included later in user-designed programs?

Not having tried a real Electra One myself, I might be wrong on all this, though. But I would be interested in getting the opinion of people who own one.

I have also had the impression that Loopop was a little light on the cons side. At the same time, I think that the review was only able to scratch the surface (no pun intended) as far as the devices’ use case potential is concerned. So further diving into the pros and cons would probably require a longer feature presentation.

I am not entirely comfortable replying here, as my opinions are biased…

I would like to mention one important design idea of the mk2 here though. The screen touch has been designed there to mostly tap the on-screen pads and buttons and to navigate to areas that are used less often, eg. config, captures, etc. Anything that generates or affects MIDI can and should be done with knobs, hardware buttons, or with external MIDI conntroller connected to the E1. So, while you can use the srceen touch to adjust a value of a MIDI parameter, it is not the primary way of doing so.

Users can fully customize functions assoticated with the harware buttons and number of associated functions is extended by using the “Alt” mode. In the same way you can use an external controller to have direct access to all controls, change pages, presets. Basically anything that can electra do, can be controlled that way.

We will not make mk2 as we now it now any more. There have been quite some ideas flying around and there were lessons learned while designing the mini. All this will result in an updated version. One of the ideas that was already tested is a 100Hz+ touch screen. I am not big fan of touch screens but for certain actions they seem to be quite handy.

The Mini does not have a touch screen and it is fun to use too.

I really like loopop’s video, it is true, however, that things like handling sysex, controlling Electra remotely, etc. simply could not fit in that time frame.

Have a mk2 and can report no lag to really speak of. If there was Martin would be working hard to rid it from the device. The mk1 was apparently a little laggy and I did just watch the video so I understand the lag/ or unresponsiveness of the touch screen(it can happen but it happen on my iPhone too trying to grab those upper corner drop down menus). I don’t really notice though when using the device, and I have used it pretty throughly with the ableton script, in productions.

These controllers are really something else. That’s the reason why I supported the mk2 at the beginning once I found out about the product(mk1 was out of production). the programming abilities make it really something that can not be touched and I think that’s why loopop highlighted it as well. Martin has made a great line of products! I wish I had money for the mini!

Thanks for the replies/feedback!

Totally valid points

Indeed - I totally empathise! I wasn’t intending it as a criticism of you, more a pity that all of the eager viewers had no means of directing their cash your way! Glad that has been rectified

And ultimately I really hope this helps increase the awareness of your amazing work, as well as growing the community.

no worries. I did not take it as criticism. I just wanted to explain how things are. For many reasons, including how the community works, we deliberately want to stay to be a small project. And that affects the availability.
