Editor for Analog Four

@brunatius
I tested A4 editor with standard midi in/out.
And it’s works fine.
So you can use standard midi port instead of USB.

about “MXJ MidiIN”
I put jar file to Java lib folder and tried to use it.

Max window didn’t report any errors,
so setup is OK ,I think.
But when I send "listports"message to “MXJ com.mosephmax.MidiIN” object,
I didn’t get any ports list in the Max window.
So I couldn’t test this object.

And I found small bug of A4.
A4 doesn’t react to “MSB2 LSB0” which is a external input chorus send parameter.
A4 can send this NRPN,
but doesn’t receive this.
I checked my patch,which seems OK.
So probably this is a A4’s bug.

it is a bug, i can confirm this too, it is not correct in the manual either- this parameter is not 14bit, only 7bit, so you don’t need the LSB value (make it 0)
you can report this to support given that you found it :wink:

@avantronica
I reported it!

@complex/minimal
Do you remember before you asked about sound variation thing.
It’s bit late reply but I found a good way to make sound variation.

First making some simple sequence line.
Then go to randomize page and check only LFO1 or LFO2 or Env2.
Then randimize them.
In this way you can add some [font=‘MS Pゴシック’, arial, sans-serif]nuance to a simple sequence line.
Try it!

this actually makes me want A LOT more than 128 patches … I could just randomise bits and save nuances i like, and use 128 patches just for one song…

oh well! Maybe elektron will make a +drive upgrade

yeah 128 patches are bit small.
I also would like to have a sound category mode.
It’s bit annoying to search sound patch with current OS.

thanks for this editor i love it.
i wanto to share with you some ideas missing in your editor…

i miss the macro routing, woul be cool to have an easy routing for macros, is so boring to do that from the machine and i use it a lot for the live performance (not the only one)

i use push and the names on the display are a mess it’s hard to understand witch parameters are… is really handy to make automations from the controller for me, is something you can set from the editor ?

would be cool to change sounds on the track straight from the editor…

@abletonian
Hello.

about a displaying of push
I guess I need to rename object of the editor.
So I will do renaming on this weekend.

about a macro
the macro means performance mode?
I can add perf knobs to the editor.
But so far I can’t add the function of editing perf knobs.

about changing sound from the editor
Maybe A4’s sound can be changed by sysex.
But I don’t know how to handle A4’s sysex.

Update:

M4L editor updated to 1.64 for the Push
I don’t have a Push,so I couldn’t test myself.
If there are any problems,send me an email or report to the forum.

Standalone editor 1.64
bug fix

Spent a few hours today setting up the A4 editor with Live and churning out a rake of random mash. This thing is feckin’ awesome!! :slight_smile:
Like having lots of hands… or something to that effect.
Cheers for the hard work you’ve put in. Nice one :+1:

Same here, the sounds coming out of the randomiser is amazing. $5 well spent.

hello… i have bought the a4 editor and l like it very much …but how can i save my setup…in stand alone editor doesnt appear the save function…also in ableton editor…but .bought works…also is it possible to sync via midiclock the sequencer…in the standalone editor?..may you can help me…thx…for helping…

@Cocker
@djd_oz
Thanks!!

@escrim
I am making preset function for both version.
So please wait for while.
And about Midi clock ,
I use USB port for the editor and standard midi port for midi clock.
So try to send midi clock to A4’s midi port from your DAW or master sequencer.

so awesome

@ratsnake
Thank you for helping and please continue!

Update:

*added preset function to standalone editor
*added preset morpher to standalone editor
*added remote randomize button to satandalone editor

I’m having some problems with m4l editor.
So updated stadalone first.
I will add these functions for m4l editor.

Desription:

1.Export button = You can export preset bank.
2.Read button = You can read preset bank.
3.ClearAll button = Clear all presets
4.RND button = This is the remote randomize button.
Using this button, you don’t need to go to randomize page everytime.
5.store preset buttons = By clicking one of these buttons,you can store current data.
6.load preset buttons
7.Preset Mopher = You can morph 2 presets.
First, choose two preset numbers which are you want to morph.
By moving slider, you can morph 2 presets.

You can make lots of sound variations by using preset morph function.
And don’t forget export your preset bank before closing the editor.

your editor is fantastic . Congratulations for your excelent work . Very cheap for the amazing usefull tool. Beleave me, your editor is extremelly usefull for me . Its an essential tool for me because i don´t like the sub-menus and little lcd screen in the a4 . With your editor i have all functions at a glance.

To finish I have a little suggestion : can you implement a vst version ? could be usefull use it with daws
