About connect button issue.
If your use older version of Max for live,
update your M4L.
And delete all Max 6 Preferences Files.
About initilize button.
Initialize button should initial all the knobs in the editor.
Which editor do you use?M4L version?
@hyakken I think he meant initialize a patch on the AF which would then initialize the editor - it simply has to be done the other way, send all default values from the editor to the synth to syncronize - i don’t have your editor but you could use a number of methods to send presets including pattr if you are feeling very brave

If A4 send specific message when initialize its sound,
It’s possible to add that function.
I checked A4,
but it seems A4 doesn’t send any message.
So I can’t do anything about that.

Hmm I don`t think I was clear because I am not talking about A4 sending init message!
I mean - when I press init patch on the editor - it send init request to A4…and the pattern is reset.
But I don`t think this init button does anything to the settings on the editor.
not sure where to check version of m4l, but max runtime is newest.
it seems both of my complaints are a problem of my versions. will investigate and try to update - thanks for answers
also - maybe like your tbseq, it would be possible to save presets of patches in the a4 editor?

Two new M4L patches
Audio to A4
This patch convert audio signal to parameter value.
So you can control A4 parameters by audio signal.
A4 Side Chainer
Similar to “Audio to A4” patch,
this patch makes side chain effect.

And now I’m making A4 editor without ableton to A4 patch.
This version has some limitations.
But it’s simpler than current version.
if only i had those…
I can’t get A4 to initialize… if I change manually the knobs it works, but pressing initial next to noise does not do it.

Can you give some more detail about your setup.
Do you use standalone or m4l?
And do you connect A4 and computer via USB?
Now I’m making without "ableton to a4"patch version.
But I have a big problem with ableton’s midi input.
It seems ableton converts any midi ch to ch1 like picture below.

I’m connecting via USB to the standalone version open in the Max itself (I have it). Does it work via midi instead of USB ? I also could not have the poly thing to work with input from my mini brute (via MIDI, not usb)
I can randomize the tracks (very cool). Changing one individual knob on the interface does update the A4. Changing a knob on A4 does update the interface.
I also have Live so I could help test in it. I think it’s a known thing with live and the channel stuff. I believe people need workarounds. Please see this

about poly/layer issue
I think it’s my fault.
I wrote “uncheck all midi in/out port except elektron A4” in the setup guide,
but this is technically incorrect.
You need to check midi note input port.
In your case,go to Midi setup menu and check minibrute’s midi port.
I think it’s work for you.
And sorry about that.
