Editor for Analog Four

@complex/minimal
Thanks! I will improve randomizer bit more.

@avantronica
Thanks for your information about MIRA.

amazing :]

is it easy to make randomizer % ?

so we can have 0% - 100% random amount on a slider for each track?

is a good way to keep a bassline as a bassline. I do like your extra way to shape parameters tho :]

if this is hard to make, its ok - still a very good editor. well worth $5 :]

thankyou for your work hyakken

Cool, where can I get the reaktor file?

@complex/minimal
Actually,it was hard work to make randomizer.
There were lots of laborious things.
I will try your suggestion.

@AikiGhost
sorry,I donā€™t know about reaktor.
I only can use MaxMsp.

Iā€™ve an effort at an editor posted into the Reaktor User library.

NRPN should work fine in Max for Live. Iā€™ve created a Shruthi-1 patch that heavily uses NRPN and worked great- though I didnā€™t use the midiformat object. Iā€™ll try out your demo tonight and see if I can spot the issue. :slight_smile:

NRPN works in M4l.
But not works well.
A4 drops NRPN messages very often.
With MaxMsp ,that issue doesnā€™t happen.
If you find out solution,please teach me.

Fantastic editor which gives another dimension to the fantastic A4.
Thanks for this work Hyakken and for the major updates !

Bonjour de Paris, Montmartre.

GP.

@GonzoPresley
Thanks!
A4 has so much potential!

iā€™d love to get hold of your reaktor ensemble but iā€™m not a member so canā€™t download it. does it work with reaktor player ?

could I get this sent via email or dropbox ? what size is the ensemble ?

fantastic work

just bought my analog4 today :slight_smile:

have you looked at this? This explains how to use NRPN in M4L. Would be great, if you could consider it using it for your patch.

@aliasmaurice
Sorry itā€™s MAXMSP/M4L editor.

@Yoko_Ono
Thank you for the information.
I tried that way ,but it didnā€™t work for me.

I found a way to avoid abletonā€™s midi port by using udp object.
So I made the m4l version.
You still need one MAXMSP patch to run.
Itā€™s called ā€œableton to a4ā€ patch.
Via this patch m4l editor can send messages to A4.

M4L editor description:

First launch ableton live.
And drug and drop a4editor.amxd to ableton live.
This window shows up.

Before using the editor,go to preference page of ableton live,
and click midi sync tab,
and uncheck elektorn analog four (in/out both),like picture below.

Then double click ā€œableton to a4ā€ patch.

Then back to ableton live,and hit the Editor button.
Editor screen will show up.

This is the only way I could find for M4L.

udp ā€¦ only used that for osc &related stuff ! sounds intriguing ā€¦ if i wasnā€™t building my own editor iā€™d like to give that a go, iā€™ve only really used Max/MSP although I have M4L ā€¦ for future reference, i guess this ā€˜bypassā€™ allows the A4 to also send ableton unfriendly sysex to the editor (in theory ) as well as tidying up the nrpn handling, assuming that was the issue ?

[edit] A bit of googling around reveals that Katsuhiro Chiba is the chap who seems originally credited with suggesting the UDP route to facilitate enhanced midi support within live - crucially including sysex support, handy to know. His other work looks very nice too !

is it possible to get this ensemble without being a member of the reaktor download area ?
does it work with the free reaktor player ?

@avantronica
This is my first time I have used UDP object.It works fine so far.

I found this topic.
http://forum.moogmusic.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=13755

This is a same kind of issue I was faced.

@hyakken - thatā€™s good to know, no significant latency i guess, looking fwd to exploring M4L some time - the DSI developer (chris) links posted above by yoko_ono are excellent, hadnā€™t seen them in a while, but then again his boss helped invent midi !

I made one new patch for m4l called analogseq for A4.

This is an analog type sequencer.
Each sequencer track can be set up individually (speed,strat/end point,direction,etc)
And this one also using UDP object,
so you need to run "ableton to A4"patch same as A4 editor for m4l.

is it me or does latest update - random all tracks - only randoms the selected tracks?

im using M4L so maybe i have a setting wrong somewhere?

@complex/minimal
I made few changes in m4l editor.
So try this way.
Close all apps.
Then open "ableton to a4"patch.This window will show up.

click option tab of Max window and enter Midi Setup menu.

This window shows up.So check only ā€œElektron Analog Fourā€ and close the setup.

Set midi in/out port and channel correctly in ableton to a4 patch.
Then open ableton live and open the m4l editor.
Turn on the connect button and then hit the editor button.

M4l editor doesnā€™t use abletonā€™s midiout,so you donā€™t need to set up midiout in ableton.
Only using midiin for playing notes.

can somebody create a RANDOMIZER for analog four in a independent EXE file or vst apart of ableton live ? because i donĀ“t have max and everybody is making these a4 controllers for the fking max , but i donĀ“t have money to purchase the fking max , so please, somebody knows a randomizer for analog four in a different interface than max ? thanks.
